Disappointed to see it's on BBC2 rather than BBC4. It means it's more likely to have inane presenters trying to be "accessible".

No, this is exactly what I feared: 5 minutes of talk already. I just want to see the actual concert. I don't want to see people talking about it.
ETA The Proms must be jolly glad they're subsidised by the BBC. This sort of Prom in the past would be full to the rafters. This year, definitely not. And I don't think it's due to them not putting all the empty seats on sale either, though obviously seats have been removed in a couple of areas.

What has your ‘estimated time of arrival’ got to do with any of this? I think it has been lovely so far and the talky bits just give some background to the songs. Or perhaps this uncomplicated BBC2 viewer isn’t getting it? Not enjoying the pronunciation of meadow as ‘medder’ but it’s only to be expected on such a lowbrow channel I suppose. 😘

Not sure why there's complaints about the talking heads, that's just standard with the Proms on TV.

I'm being driven up the wall by the talking between every single number. Why can't they just be quiet & let the music do the talking? I'm almost as much annoyed by the camerawork. Usually filmed versions of live events are marketed as giving you a better view than being in the audience. The Proms must be the only one that gives you a worse view, by keeping on having shots from up at the very top of the RAH!

They just talk during the interval though don’t they?! It's just the beginning and the interval, it seems a very odd thing to complain about and really if it you wanted to this concert without the presenters and/or commentary, you'd have booked a ticket to see it live when it was on last week! When something like this is on the telly, you have to accept that it is going to be different to watching it live, you don't see people complaining about the football or the Olympics having commentary or discussion and the Proms is no exception.

I’m very happy with the brief comments between sets. And it’s Bonnie so I’m here for it!
If you want to see too much inane filler go to the Olympics coverage. I’ve had to stop watching it.
