I assume that, much like Heathers can you believe, that the success of this show hinges on the combination of "robbed" musical status and a good bootleg to go around, plus a good quality cast recording, all make for a frenzy online and within the musical theatre circles.

So is this actually a good musical? It bombed in NYC.. I like some of the songs but it doesn’t blow me away. Interested to hear that everyone is wetting themselves over this concert. My guess- it’s going to be doing a run at the Menier.. Reaching for the stars then! 😶

Poster in the foyer says previews from April. Was running very late so unfortunately had to leave early for my last train.

Reaching for the stars then! 😶 Apparently it was selling well in NYC when it closed and that producers were spooked by the rotten reviews it got which are said to have been because anything Wildhorn does is automatically panned. Other than that it was doing well.

WOS are broadcasting the curtain call live at the moment I saw it but in truth there were so many people cheering, whooping and screaming that I couldn't actually make out which theatre it's going to.

That's where Choir of Mn is currently playing, right? Yes, and where Six was for a while. It's really not a comfortable theatre, it must be said. And no chance in hell of Jeremy doing a stint there in it!

Very much enjoyed the show tonight. Definitely more of a full staging than a concert version. I thought the actual content was firmly “good” but the outstanding cast elevated it to a brilliant level. As a piece of musical theatre I thought all elements worked very well together.
Jeremy and Francis sounded fantastic. Such powerful vocals. Natalie McQueen. If she plays this role in the full production she has an Olivier award coming her way. Perfection.
How curious they have taken the Arts as the venue for this. As others have alluded it’s a pretty horrible venue. I am curious of it’s appeal to a wider audience, and even for many there tonight it was clear the appeal was to see Jeremy.
I will certainly enjoy listening to the recording through now that I know the context. Hadn’t heard the score before tonight and it was very nice to hear a new score.

My interest in seeing a full production of this depends 100% on the casting, hopefully it’s interesting.

I agree. I will go only if the cast are worth seeing as it's a musical which I've never seen in person. I agree about the Arts theatre. I remember seeing Ruthless there from a seat centre stalls which was under a freezing air vent that appeared to be at risk of falling on me!

The Arts is basically falling down, but it'll be nice to have Nick directing a full production of it!

The Arts will be the closest Frank Wildhorn will ever get to a West End Theatre. People went to see Jeremy Jordan, not Bonnie and Clyde. Unless it's got a big name cast, it won't be around long.
The Arts Theatre could be a decent venue if someone had the money to invest in it, but it needs a serious overhaul.I first went there in 1994 to see a then unknown Graham Norton in his show 'The Karen Carpenter Bar and Grill' It was a dive even then.

It wasn’t that long ago that permission was given to knock it down and replace it, shortly before six took off there.

Surprised this didn't go for The Other Palace. After all it was workshopped there around the same time as Heathers, the venue has a good history of taking projects that were seen as very "American" and making them into hits in the UK, and it seems TOP has nothing booked post-Heathers.
