Did she forget to pop her laundry bin in the other room?

Some ludicrous overmarking tonight
Other than 1 or 2 couples,it was a pretty dull week

Yes, the marking has been off for a few years, but there were some 9's and 10's handed out tonight that surprising. I've more or less stopped paying attention to the marking now, it's just a cue for a panto boo or for some of the pro's to scream and jump around.
I often wonder if the judges should rank them when the dances are all finished, a bit like Paul and Pru do for the technical challenge on GBBO. But the judges would never agree and the they would loose the 'dramatic score reveal' moment.
Are they doing a Halloween theme next week? I hope they do.

I enjoyed the Charleston but it was a bit tentative in places
I love the AT as a dance and that fell well short for me. It lacked an authentic feel for me and took forever to get going.
Tilly just bored me. I just don't get the love for what she does.
And the story of the VW didn't fit the dance... I'm angry with you so let's spin round with one another a lot.

Pretty much agree with this. I love AJ and Kai, but wasn't too impressed with the AT, it didn't seem to have the usual AT mood and atmosphere and where were all the flicky sharp legs, I was surprised it got such high marks, but what do I Know? And yes, the angry VW, was just odd with the couple's tiff idea. Charleston was my fav of the night. I would say Sara and Ugo are in trouble, perhaps Dan too

I threw 2 votes to Sara because she does not deserve to go out before Judi and Ugo
I know better dancers always leave before weaker ones. But Sara really is showing great progress.

I thought the Charleston kept looking as if it was going to kick up a gear, then just... didn't. I liked it, but felt it could have been better.
I actually really enjoyed Dan and Nadiya's!

I think it was John and Johannes' trousers that held them back, especially John's.
And was there really any need for such filth from the pub landlady?

I loved Rose’s dance - usually the Viennese is a sweet, pink roses affair but this was sophisticated and very watchable. I enjoyed the Charleston. I think it did ‘kick off’ with the big sweep round lifts but that song maintains a beat with the key change and doesn’t speed up. Ugo , I was so worried for his back. That kind of dance isn’t kinder on a back as he suggested because of the stop start and the tension. I think he will be leaving. I’m sorry they didn't enjoy Sara more. I think she needs to stop worrying about the technique which she seems to be ok on and give it more wellie.

I’m intrigued. How do you think they changed the dress colours in the opening routine?

I really enjoyed the storyline of Rose and Giovanni’s dance. I’d definitely like to see them in the final, alongside John and Johannas. Both are great performers improving each week and also come across as lovely people.

I’m intrigued. How do you think they changed the dress colours in the opening routine? I didn't notice that happen. But it looks like a tearaway moment. Oti's first dress was very ill fitting and the second colour was more form fitting. So a tearaway as the clothes rails went by would be my guess

So a tearaway as the clothes rails went by would be my guess I thought that at first, but then they change a couple more times. Husband was talking about chroma-key and some sort of green screen because when Oti comes towards the camera, the dress went from mustard to brown (on our very old screen!) I started to Google for it but had the result spoiled by the first hit 🙀

Sorry but I thought that opening group number was a mess. Is Halloween just general fancy dress these days? Why was Pinocchio and Dorothy from Wizard of Oz in it? Darth Vader isn’t exactly Halloween either. Didn’t like the routine either 😑

Agree. Bad song, bad costumes, just a mess.

Personally, as much as I love Judi, I fear that the dance off will come down to Sara and Judi

Judi needs to go. She has zero talent as a dancer. She barely even tries

Agree about Judi - if she was in the competition last week, with that routine, I think she would have been out. Being ill with covid may have zapped her energy this week.

I thought the opening number was a mess. Judi’s had nothing to do with Halloween, as they admitted, just adding a visual special effect which was pathetic. Sarah really made a poor choice on that one though Aliaj seemed to apologise so what exactly is the own choice option? Rose and Tilly very good, again. They keep saying that Dan is improving but I don’t see it and doesn’t he talk, eh?

The whole show was disappointing
Poor choreography in many of the dances
Ignoring the rules to allow Judi to carry over her cha cha
Some good hair and make up but that is style not substance
I was bored most of the time
No way was it a week to give any 10s

All that preamble from Sara about her career and her family, the big build up “this is for you” and then it was a total dud. She had the weirdest expression on her face all the way through it as well. Tilly was my favourite. Ilove those cute little Cha Cha’s with the teapot arms and fast swizzles. It was like one of my all time fave’s Dani Harmer’s Halloween Scooby Doo Cha Cha.

I often find the Halloween episode tedious and a few quirky costumes only go so far before it gets stale. And last night’s opening pro routine set the bar pretty low: a garish mess of a routine.
An adequate episode all in all for me…still, at least Shirley looked as if she was having much fun: I kind of wanted what she was having!

The whole episode felt quite flat to me and usually there is a good atmosphere for the Halloween shows. Rose and Giovanni were well deserved being top of the leader board.

I don't get the love for that tango. It was not worth 10s. 9s maybe. But I just found it dull to watch.
I think the judges should be strapped to their seats. Enough with the standing ovations. It is getting very old.

It is getting very old. It was full of proper, difficult Tango content, she followed well and her posture was exquisite. From a dance perspective it was absolutely worth 10s.

I think it's unprofessional for the judges to stand; they are there to judge, of course they can enjoy a performance and be thrilled by it, but when they stand as much as they do it's hard to take what they say seriously. I preferred it when they judges stood only when a contestant was eliminated and for the final

I don't mind them standing during it — I thought it was so they could see over the desk. I don't like them standing as a comment.

They do sometimes stand during the dance so they can watch their feet more clearly. I think that’s fine.
