Advice please. I’m able to book Wimbledon ..possibly as tix going like the proverbial but am concerned that if i get a couple of tix will i be able to give them away? Chances are I cant go, various reasons but obvs family members could. Any idea if they are doing the usual Wimbledon spoilsport stuff this year or not cos different booking system?
ps for years Ive moaned about not being able to buy tix on open market as it were and now I can, having concerns.

I was looking through all the info on the site yesterday and it clearly says that the person booking the tickets must attend.

Ok, thanks for telling me. Wouldn’t want to gain a criminal record! I’m finding the tix are mainly gone now, a few singles hanging about. No x2. Ah well. I should have grabbed what I saw earlier on. She who hesitates is lost.

I love Wimbledon 😊 I’ve been lucky enough to get tickets a few times through the ballots. Slow start today with the rain but Jack Draper should be proud of his efforts in his first Grand Slam match. Excellent win for Liam Broady too.
Come on Andy!

It's the roof wot won it. Designed and built in a factory on the side of a hill, not too far from where I'm typing this. I couldn't be more proud. Andy played quite well too, I suppose. 🙂
If only there had been a roof on Number 1 court for the one and only occasion I was successful in the ballot. All that way and I didn't see a single ball hit in anger! ☹

She who hesitates is lost. It's a long shot, but they said on the commentary on Monday that they are getting returns and it's worth checking back. Presumably some people might discover they have to isolate, so can't use them, and everyone is supposed to have a negative test before they go, so some people might have a last minute disappointment. If you don't have them, make sure you get LFT kits so you can do one if required. Apparently you can pick them up for free in pharmacies, which would be quicker than ordering online.

What an amazing atmosphere too. I think the crowds have been extra loud and supportive this year on many matches that I’ve seen.

Brilliant match last night with Andy Murray. Looking forward to seeing Cameron Norrie today who is working his way up the rankings with his great performances this year.

Murray not Norrie I agree about Andy. He’s our greatest ever tennis player and no-one comes close at the moment.

I agree about Andy and we’ve really been spoilt in the last 10-15 years with Murray, Nadal, Federer and Djokovic - there won’t be an era like this again in men’s tennis.
I do feel it’s a little unfair to hold others up to comparisons so I’m glad there are some other British players doing well in general (not just at Wimbledon). I do enjoy following Cameron Norrie, Dan Evans and think Jack Draper is one to watch.
On the ladies side - Emma Raducanu is the youngest Brit to reach the Wimbledon 3rd round since 2002 so well done Emma!

It always amazes me when you see tennis players slog it out for hours with sometimes hardly any time to recover and a then compare to a group of 11 players on a pitch for 45 minutes with a break then another 45 minutes. Then they may only have a few days to recover!! Having said that for a non sports fan I have never watched so much sport. Wimbledon and England matches at Euros!!

Think Le Tour is missing out on a mention here. Amazing first week and Cav winning twice. Wow. I know the stars have nicely aligned but incredible five years since his last win. 34-32

If it's acceptable for men of a certain age to find young women adorable, Emma Raducanu is absolutely adorable. Completely un-phased by playing on a big stage in front of a partisan crowd and, unlike a certain player who has decided to withdraw her labour, infectious in front of the world's media.
Unfortunately, her next opponent seems to be a nasty piece of work with that Australian win at all costs mentality. Tomljanovic's behaviour on Saturday was most unbecoming and should result in some kind of penalty.

Let’s hope they don't do that media destroy they love to do, the big set up, then the who she?

Your comment about Naomi Osaka is pretty offensive, and clearly you know that since you deliberately didn't name her. You clearly either know nothing about mental health or.just don't care, but either way compassion costs nothing.
