Having not scheduled any theatre viewing for my last night in London, a decent discount from Today Tix for Sunday night’s final performance of the concert persuaded me to get a ticket. For £25 sat at the back of the stalls, a fantastic seat for what was a great evenings entertainment.
MC’d by Shanay Holmes, the 2 hour musical extravaganza was just a blast. A fantastic party atmosphere inside the auditorium with plenty of singing and dancing from both cast and audience really left you in high spirits aling with a sore throat for me at the end of the night. A shame that there wasn’t any kind of programme on offer either physical or digital. The on stage band of 4 sounded great and when you’ve got Alice Fearn singing “Defying Gravity” that is something special and a moment to savour. Trevor Dion Nicholas revisiting Aladdin in a Disney segment as well as Alice Fearn singing “Let It Go” other standouts of the evening.

A shame that there wasn’t any kind of programme on offer either physical or digital. There was on Thursday night but it wasn't worth the money. I enjoyed this quite a lot, though not as much as I'd hoped. Possibly because it didn't seem to really know what it was trying to be - it's all very well telling the audience to participate, but then immediately having Music of the Night as the first song didn't really help with that, good though Ben Foster was. Second half was much stronger and Sophie Evans and Rachel John got people up dancing, though from the Upper Circle (where the atmosphere was great) it was a shame to see so many people in the stalls not joining in.

Our david never needs telling twice to get up and dance. In fact, he doesn't usually need telling once! 🙂🕺

Our david never needs telling twice to get up and dance. In fact, he doesn't usually need telling once! 🙂🕺 So true TallPaul. I’m just glad that when I hopefully watch Riverdance later on this year there is no audience participation. I would need an ambulance outside the Liverpool Empire if there was!
