You're being kind.
Better to just rewatch either of the two previous tv adaptations which are vastly superior.

Attempts at too much style with almost zero substance.
It fails on every level
The overuse of narration The quality of the characterisation The acting/overacting The music The direction The clumsy anachronisms which are done far better by other modern period dramas
It really is a seriously bad piece of work

Oh good. Not just me then. Andrew Scott was (nominally) the best thing about it along with Lily James not singing.

Lasted ten minutes I’m afraid. Narration has to reveal and not describe.

I saw the trailer and thought 'oh it's all the same people again and I think it might be irritated'! so rather glad to read that might well have been the case. I read an article on the Midfords and that didn't make me more inclined. So thanks for saving me time.

Lasted ten minutes I’m afraid I think I lasted 15!! Wasn't holding out much hope after the trailer but thought I ought to give it a chance!

I just saw a trailer with Andrew Scott talking about dying pigeons and that's convinced me def not to try.
