Saw this the other day and it’s SO slow and mismatched. Jake Shears was the only thing holding it together for me, felt like he was performing a whole other show to the rest of the cast.
This show needs new life breathing into it asap. It was good but it wasn’t… good.
And I’m not sure if it was just me but during the bows most of the cast seemed over it and looked like they didn’t even want to be there.

Don't think they're going to say goodbye to it anytime soon, considering it's still making good cash.

What's with Bobby and Victor having swapped aesthetics, lines and the songs they perform? They've swapped their namee around for no apparent reason.
Still not over the box/wig in TBtM. Just feels a little TOO on the nose for what's otherwise an ominous 'off' piece which makes sense later in the show.

Such a tired, boring production. But I thought that when it opened too. I don't get the hype. Can't believe it's gearing up for an American opening. Sigh.

She's got a hefty amount of days off, so it at least gives ample opportunity to see Luke with the alternate Sally ...!

Of course they might extend, but right out the gate, these two have been announced with the shortest run, right?
Not gonna lie, kind of intrigued about her, she seems to have a lot of personal charisma, and it didn't translate on screen in the one thing I saw her in, but that curse sometimes gets bucked on stage.

I will be seated, even if it's out of morbid curiousity.

All 22 of them are listed clearly on the holidays page of the website!

I did a double take but you know what? I'm intrigued. Would I book? No. Twice is enough for me! Good luck to Cara and Luke. Clever casting - will create a buzz. what the producers want.

Unless they light a fire under the ensemble's arses, a change of headliners isn't going to achieve much. The wallpaper's peeling off.

All 22 of them are listed clearly on the holidays page of the website! Thanks I hadn't checked, I'll be honest - I was mostly venting my frustration, as I'd like to see the production once again but the most recent MC/Sally pairings haven't excited me enough to book, and this one hasn't improved the game for me.

It kind of devalues all of the studying of stage craft and technique that drama students go through if someone who has never set foot on a stage before can just roll up and perform an iconic role.

It does, but clearly the appreciation of trained MT talent has worn thin and only (bizarre) celeb casting is keeping this afloat.

Cara has ruined everything she's been in on screen that I've seen, so I definitely wouldn't pay out out to see if she's any better on stage.

Couldn’t stand her in Only Murders in the Building. The only time I’ve enjoyed her was as one of the fake radio DJs in Grand Theft Auto. I think only hearing her made it better somehow. Anyway, I thought this production was okay - nothing more. Mason Alexander Park stood out by miles as the best thing about it but I couldn’t understand the show’s hype. Once it began it was fairly dull, the best bit was the pre-show and the theming.

Her fans always have an excuse of 'oh, it was bad writing', 'she was directed terribly', but she was the weakest part of everything I've seen her in and virtually all of those were critically panned.
I MAY try to book one of her off days just to see Luke cos he at least intrigues me.
Wonder what scenes they'll tweak or remove this cast.

Looks like i will be seeing this on the cara free days, very odd choice. I wonder how much she paid for the role?!

This is the shortest cast too IIRC - the standard before was sixteen weeks.

Once it began it was fairly dull, the best bit was the pre-show and the theming. Lmao. You certainly loved it when you wanted to put down Sunset. See, this is the problem. Emotions run high when discussing subjects, and people get silly and don’t address the topics raised. From my point of view, all shows absolutely can be rebooted while maintaining their integrity to the writer’s intentions. Take Cabaret, for example, at the Kit Kat Klub. I hugely enjoyed that interpretation despite a complete change in direction creatively from productions which preceded it. What that production didn’t need to do was re-write the book or cast performers who don’t match the characters as written. Yet that production felt fresh, exciting and new - with no sets and a smallish band - if that is the definition nowadays of “reimagined”.
