Hi, Sorry if this has been asked before taking my brother to see this for christmas is there a better side of the auditorium to sit on or is it quite even with the direction? Thanks There are people who claim the view is equally good on both sides. Don't listen to them, the view is better from what would be the "traditional" audience side, the larger one in front of the stage

Thank you

All the big plot beats, entrances, climaxes of songs, etc. happen facing the 'main' side. Imagine seeing the likes of Married (Reprise) or Cabaret from behind. Two of the strongest emotional moments of the show missed otherwise IMO.

The cast and company including Jake and Rebecca are on Jo Whiley's show tonight on Radio 2. Just listened to it, they sound fantastic! Makes me want to go and see the show again.

I really would have thought that by now Rebecca Frecknall would have fixed this by now. For being in the round, it is very 'front' based. The worst is Cabaret. Sitting in the back, you miss most of it.

Is Rebecca the best Sally we've had this production as far as vocals go? She absolutely killed it on the radio there, actually want to go catch this cast now. Jake did nothing to sell me though, sorry to say, though he is following up from MAP's I Don't Care Much so maybe I'm not being entirely fair there.

I’ve seen all the Sally/Emcee pairings since this run began and the current two have been the weakest for me. She’s a stronger singer than Maude but I don’t enjoy her interpretation or vocals at all despite her talent.

(Though being a stronger singer than Maude's a fairly low bar. 🤭) Do you have a favourite pairing? Sally as Sally surprised me a lot, got to say.

I think the strongest pairing and duo that worked best together for the show was Jessie and Eddie. Amy was fine, Fra was miscast. Madeleine was great, Callum was decent. Aimee has been the best subsequent Sally but John didn’t work for me. Maude was… okay 🙃 but Mason was the best subsequent Emcee. Rebecca and Jake are fine! Not bad at all but neither one is a standout. There’s been very few casting missteps but also few smashes. It’s a shame Aimee and Mason weren’t cast together as that would’ve been a fire combo.

Honestly, of the pairings I've seen, very much agreed with your feelings on them. Though I'd replace Amy with Aimee, imagine what a powerhouse duo her and Mason'd be. Still feel they need an Eddie/Jessie level pairing to even come close to justifying the price and longevity of the show. Cos, right now, it's starting to feel a bit like scraping the barrel.

Aimee and Mason were actually supposed to do It together originally, but a scheduling conflict meant Mason had to delay and go in the next pairing - I do think they'd have been utterly sensational together, considering they're the best subsequent performers of the roles since the first cast

Fascinating to learn that they came so close to that pairing because it really would’ve been an unmissable combo! Updated my post as Aimee is indeed who I meant to say should’ve performed alongside Mason! Not Amy Lennox.

God damn, we were this close to greatness!

I’ve seen them all as well and for me, Madeline has been the overall best Sally in this production. For me, she was the total package and I adored her interpretation of Sally.

I booked for end of January expecting a new cast and all these comments are making me seriously consider exchanging my tickets.

I was lucky enough to be able to see Aimee, and had hoped to make a second trip to see Mason but things didn't pan out — would have loved to have seen them together!

Any board members popped along to the kit kat club at selfridges bar or seen if there is any special merchandise. The menu can be down loaded and tables booked from the link below. Caviar top item at 49.95 and a bottle of dom perignon at 425 so bit above my food budget. Think there was meant to be a special window display which would be free to view. Only merchandise which seems to come up on the site are three different handmade upcycled pouches at 170 each. Money definitely makes the world go round. www.selfridges.com/GB/en/features/services-appointments/london/restaurants-bars-cafes/kit-kat-club/There's definitely more merch now - some nice hoody's alongside some t shirts with costume designs on... though i don't seem to be able to add any of them to my card? Thanks for the update, the £120 hoodie are now sold out but does seem some sizes of the £50 long sleeved tshirts with rather creepy drawings of the emcee or Sally are still available. You could almost buy a decent ticket for the show at those prices.

So finally got round to seeing this tonight took my brother for his birthday and Christmas present.
I really enjoyed it not much to probably say that hasn't been said but it was a great immersive night out I really enjoyed the whole design of the theatre from the moment you walk in we were at one of the cabaret tables and it was good fun although not the most comfy seat I've ever sat in for a very long act one.
The toilet situation at the interval was carnage it just felt very busy but perhaps the tight space made it feel worse picked up a programme (very expensive but I like to always have one)
I really enjoyed the cast obviously I cannot compare to Previous casts and I would be interested to see how other performers take on the lead roles I thought Jake Shears was much stronger than he seems to be given credit for on here and I really enjoyed Rebecca as well I found her quite charming funny and tragic.
The ensemble work very hard in this show as do all the cast and I really felt the tension in act two and have to say the stand out performance for me had to be Beverly Kleins what would You do which really moved me.
A lovely night and I would like to make a return visit at some point on the future I would say a good 4 and a half stars for me :-)

Saw this for the first time since the first cast change tonight and thought it was in excellent shape. Jake, who I really like anyway, was excellent if a bit safe. Self Esteem was a revelation. I thought she was exceptional as Sally and gave a remarkably unselfconscious performance. She really captured Sally's naivety and messiness in a very rounded way. I'll be amazed if she's not read Isherwood's Goodbye to Berlin!
Of the talent on stage I wasn't familiar with, we had Laura Delany on as Fraulein Kost, who. we both thought was excellent.

Trying to work around dynamic pricing AND the inverse with train pricing is a damned nightmare but I'm determined to see this lot before they go.

Just seen the show for the first time since September and Rebecca is the 3rd Sally I've seen and she is the funniest and is the best-acted Sally I've seen Jake was out of the show tonight. Understudy was very good. Rebecca was great. I still feel this is the worst production of Cabaret I’ve ever seen. I saw Joel Grey in his final MC as well. Pretty pictures in staging is not direction. Tonight they used wireless hand mics. I don’t remember that last time. I accept the head mics. I dont know why as the playhouse is tiny. Where there wired mics in the 1930s? A chorus member also has a large tattoo on his chest ‘1995’. Were in Berlin before the holocaust where millions of jews and others were murdered. It’s not 1995. Alert the hair and makeup team to cover it up. Better choices. This production is just lazy.

Any word on the new casting following Jake and Rebecca?

Ah yes, the production with the choreographer with a hip-hop/waacking background, which does not adhere to any period in costume, has a bovver boot wearing Sally (whose picture with a hand held mic was released before previews), don't know exactly what they are doing.
And why can't someone tattoo 1995 in the 30s? Maybe it's the name of the book he's writing. Maybe he just liked the idea of the year 1995. Maybe he's counting days.
