If it is okay for one gender then it should be okay for other genders. If it's not okay for one its not okay for another. Except Bradley Jaden actively strips off and caresses his body in that show. It’s not the same !!

Had the best time tonight - it was “local performance” night so out of the 250-odd seats, probably 200 were occupied by local school kids (14-16 year olds, I recon). Was slightly worried at first when the light went down and a shushing war started but after that, it was amazing to see them take everything in. Incredibly well behaved, visibly moved, audibly shocked at some of the turns and revelations - I loved seeing and hearing those more unfiltered reactions. Finished by massively loud and enthusiastic cheering in the end.
They did an after-show talk with the cast for some of the classes, which sounds amazing and I wish I could pass for young enough to have snug in, but alas I do not. Great to see these sort of outreach and engagement programmes, the staff said they do these sort of performances for every production, which is awesome.

Ahh… lovely memories… We can all enjoy/prev over performers if we want to but I won't say which ones I've enjoyed. Lets just say I ever forgave British Rail when they cancelled a load of trains in 2000 and I missed a show featuring a well known personality who we would see " a lot of"

If it is okay for one gender then it should be okay for other genders. If it's not okay for one its not okay for another. No, of course not. But life isn’t a black & white issue, answerable with a glib one-liner. I’m pretty sure that the threat of being physically overpowered by a man is different to that of a woman.

Who said anything about physically overpowering anyone! I said she’s lovely to look at for pity’s sake. The double standards are outrageous.

I am taking this from a view point that someone comments on here a person has a great six pack, a sexy stomach, was wearing tight trousrrs or a low cut up to even they had lovely eyes which could apply to any gender. Not shouting a comment at them in a public place with a group of jeering friends.
Anyone finding Bradley attractive, pleasant to look at and saying so on here I wouldn't think was wrong but lets say I said Eleanor WC from the musical this thread is about is a very attractive young woman now as well as being a very talented performer. I'd put that in the same context.

How you all choose to conduct yourselves in your personal lives is your own business but as far as this forum is concerned, complimenting a performer of any gender on their appearance is fine. If it crosses over into sexual comment, innuendo, focussing on body parts, speculation and anything that could be regarded as sleazy then that’s not fine.
I am 100% sure that you are all perfectly capable of understanding the difference and acting accordingly. Where members deliberately play games or try to score points around this matter it will be considered to be a rule break.
Back on topic please.

Aghhh! This brought it all flooding back. Wish I could've seen it again. So grateful I at least saw it once.

I managed to snag a return ticket for tonight, alas for one of those god awful standing tickets. So mainly going for the audio experience lol. Is standing as bad as that?

Hello from the interval. Standing is not too bad. I can see a lot and I’m 178 cm tall.
Different perspective that I had from the side stalls earlier in the week.

It 's actually not all that bad, but I definitely recommend the side spots, as you get a bit more leeway stepping out into into the space next to the rows (and sometime can sneak into unoccupied aisle seats in the second half).

New trailer the day before closing?... 👀 Thinking the same thing! Makes zero sense to me if no transfer is planned.

The Donmar released a trailer (filmed by the same production company) for 'The Band's Visit' months after it'd closed, just as a reminder of the show to promote its Olivier nominations. I was more curious about whether they just filmed key scenes/songs for this trailer or if they have done a pro-shot of the full show. I believe they did film a full version of 'The Band's Visit' to be screened at the V&A.

The only recent transfer from the Donmar that I can remember was the marvellous 'Sweat' to the Gielgud (and, of course, the Constellations revival which was mounted at the Vaudeville in 2021).
Very little transfers from there, unlike say, the Almeida, Young Vic and the NT, but if they can't manage a transfer for Next to Normal, then they'll never get one. It's a no brainer to transfer it if they have Caissie Levy on board.
And I thought Wessex Grove were working with the Donmar on transfer opportunities. This would be their best bet!
