Heard today that the show will transfer in 2024 and take the current cast with it? Yep. Was all contingent on La Levy, so I’m guessing that’s been sorted out between all parties. Fantastic to have such quality in the West End.

So a transfer has been confirmed behind the scenes? Anyone know where?

Really enjoying Lucy Munden tonight, she’s seems a bit more of a sarcastic Natalie, less outwardly falling apart so far than Eleanor Worthington, equally good performance though just a different take so far. Brilliant vocals.

Final conclusion after the whole show - Lucy Munden killed it, she was fab. Brilliant voice and her acting affected me more as well.
I think I cried more tonight second time around that the first time I saw it! Especially the breakdown between Dan and Gabe.
If this does transfer it has to be a smaller house. The intimacy of the Donmar adds so much to the experience of this show, that would be lost on even any of the middle-sized London theatres. The Phoenix maybe. Or the new in the round place whose name escapes me late at night.

The Phoenix is a 1000 seat house, it's hardly intimate, and you could not put this in Soho Place as you can't just...do this in the round....
Would fit nicely somewhere like the Criterion or Ambassadors for capacity wise (or that Trafalgar Theatre if we can finally bin off Jersey Boys)

I don't know if they've used that set-up yet - I've only been there once, for The Little Big Things - but sohoplace was designed to be a flexible space, and is configurable as a thrust stage as well as a theatre-in-the-round.

Phoenix isn’t intimate but it feels smaller than all of the houses along Shaftesbury Ave for example. To me at least. You feel closer to the stage.
Yes Soho Place is what I meant, it’s designed to be flexible isn’t it?

I think Next to Normal would be perfect there and they can still run off and on stage like the donmar.

If sohoplace can be turned into a proscenium and not performed in the round, then this already small theatre would be cutting off 1/4 of its space which wouldn’t make much sense financially, I’d imagine.

Sohoplace can be used in thrust staging, same as the Donmar and could hold up to 435 seats. Thats almost 200 more than where it is now. Dont think it can be used as a Pros. arch

The Phoenix isn't likely to be available because of Stranger Things.
@sohoplace is designed to be flexible so it can be altered to be like the Donmar.

Soho Place seems to have more of an in house policy. I'd say this will likely go to the Pinter or Duke of York's.

And I think you’ll find I break more news on here than probably anyone else. Sometimes things change though… and I’ve been reliably told that N2N is currently not transferring. Let’s wait and see shall we.

"this project posed a radical challenge for the design team who were asked to deliver an adjustable thrust and in-the-round theatre, all within the tight spatial constraints of a dense Soho site" So no Pros. Arch, but I guess that makes sense when practically every other theatre in the West End is that style. It can still be used in numerous interesting layouts though:

It was not you at all - another user beginning with B who posts on here very frequently. Sorry 🙈 I would love to see N2N having missed it during its Donmar run - fingers crossed!

Just a voucher for a spa day and a ticket to see Bradley in Sondheim again.
