Sadly I've got to return two tickets for this Thursday's matinee. I'll contact the box office in the morning so just a heads up.

Anyone found out about the understudy performance? I just got an email 15 minutes ago that I was unsuccessful. Would have killed to see this, but hopefully someone on here can report back. Edit: I can't let it go yet. Called them up and have been put on the waitlist, fingers crossed!

Anyone found out about the understudy performance? I got the email this morning saying I didn't get it. My friend's friend did get it and received the email yesterday.

I cannot wait for the cover run! I’m mainly most excited about seeing how Carolyn takes on Diana.

Given that there are only four cover actors, with the two male covers covering a pair of roles each (Gabe/Henry and Dan/the Doctors), I'm guessing those seeing the understudy show will get to see two of the regular cast too.

We'll get Jack and Trevor as Henry and the Doctors, with the other 4 playing the family.

Ahead of today's cover run, Lucy Munden made her debut as Natalie last night.

Do we think the main cast will be watching? Anyone heard mumblings as if I'm sat next to Caissie I might just pass out...so advance warning would be excellent lol!

It can be off putting for covers having the person they’re covering in the audience. As much as I’m sure they’d want to support, principles don’t watch cover runs.

Interval at the cover performance. Everyone smashing it. Diana and Natalie’s voices are sublime!

Wow. Carolyn Maitland. Wow. What a star performance. She was absolutely incredible, one of my favourite Dianas that I have ever seen. The work she has done is just remarkable. It felt very much like Carolyn and Lucy as Natalie were leaps and bounds above everyone else.
I think it’s best I keep my opinions on some of the other performances to myself.
Edited to say, it was wonderful to see Eleanor and Jack at the cover run, Eleanor was jumping up and down cheering for the entire bows. She is such a delight.

Hard to put into words the effect this had on me. I can't think of any other musical that has given me so many punches in the stomach. I knew nothing of the story so the gradual reveals were sometimes shocking, one in particular as the stage revolved. I've rarely been so moved at intermission and wondered where would it go from here. Thankfully I felt uplifted at the end but felt I'd been through a real journey with the family. Beautifully acted, sung, directed, set and lighting design. Cassie Levy was superb but Eleanor Worthington-Cox was hard to watch through tears, her performance was beyond good, I thought it was phenomenal for an actress so young. 5*.

I think all the cover run actually highlighted to me is just how spectacularly cast the 'main' actors are in their roles.
I enjoyed Carolyn and she's evidently done a LOT of work off her own back with this and it shows as she was by a country mile the most confident performance on show.
Like the poster above, best to not be negative especially as it was a cover run. It was nice to see other interpretations of the roles though!

Highly impressed and moved by yesterday’s matinee. Glad to have an opportunity to see it here, after NY (off Broadway and on).

The principal 3 leads in particular (the Diana/gabe/Natalie) are so good that I would hope if this ever becomes the first Broadway revival of next to normal (and at this point it’s hard to imagine it wouldn’t be) they would all transfer to NYC with the show.

Just surprised this isn’t getting a London transfer when it’s been sold out for the whole run and could easily last another 6 months somewhere else? Disappointing so many will miss it.

Are we saying a transfer definitely isn’t happening then? Hopefully they’re still trying to book something?
