When I couldn't get to the Donmar thanks to a train strike they gave me account credit minus a £1 fee. Just used the credit yesterday for Clyde's as already have Next to Normal booked luckily as it looks like a sell out.
The Donmar Daily tickets are released 7 days before performances, I have been lucky in the past with returned tickets for other productions...just have to keep visiting the website when the show starts as tickets get put back on right away when they are returned.

I’ve a ticket on offer for the matinee on Saturday 9th September. It’s on the notice board section.
The Donmar have said they will give me credit if I return it to them, which I will if no one wants it.

Just out of Tom Kitt’s cabaret where he was joined by Jack and Eleanor. Their vocals and performances were outstanding and it’s made me even more excited to see this on the 18th!!

Am I the only one here who booked this solely on the presence of Jamie Parker? Certainly not the only one I am wondering how big a role he has in this..

Not sure what you mean by “how much he gets to sing”. He’ll sing the role of Dan. The original cast recording shows exactly how much that character gets to sing.

You do realise this is a Tony award winning and Pulitzer Prize winning musical, right? The whole show is on Spotify, YouTube etc. Dan features heavily in numerous songs, but he is considered a supporting actor to the lead character Diana. He plays her husband and sings in about 9 songs. A list is here at the bottom of the page - avoid the main page text for spoilers: nexttonormal.fandom.com/wiki/Dan_Goodman

Still thanks a lot for the info!

I know next to nothing about the source material at this point, but the mention of 9 songs is enough for me to just dash to the website and grab a ticket Sorry if I offended the fans of the show somehow - I hope I will enjoy it as much. I really appreciate that you helped me with the information I was looking for.

I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

It’s a relatively heavy book musical about serious themes, with the actor you like playing a secondary role. Really hope you enjoy the show and have a terrific time!

I’d rather take a Jamie concert any day lol, but yeah I understand it isn’t that. It being about serious matters actually makes me want to watch it more. Thanks again x

I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Next to Normal is one of the only shows where so many of the male songs are my favourites! I’ve now gotten to see Eleanor perform Superboy and The Invisible Girl twice, Jack sing I’m Alive - the two boys were the two in the cast I knew nothing about and I was extremely impressed with him. The highlight has been seeing Caissie and Eleanor singing Maybe (Next to Normal) which is one of the highlights of the show for me, and such a huge moment for both Diana and Natalie’s characters. I was completely blown away, even in a cabaret setting, it was one of the saddest performances of the song that I’ve ever seen. With that, and getting to watch her I Miss the Mountains, so beautifully acted as well as sung - we’ve been given a real glimpse into how Caissie’s Diana is going to be, and I cannot wait!

Just managed to book some restricted view tickets (C44 and C45) in the Circle with the Donmar Daily ticket release.
I know it will likely be dependent on the set and staging, but has anyone had previous experience in similar seats in the Donmar? Hoping we don’t miss out on too much, though I’ll be happy to hear the cast sing the score live.

Had this seat before, was comfortable because of the extra side legroom and missed very little during Winston Went to War, especially if all stages in front 3/4 of stage you will see everything, speaker to side only obstruction and not too bad at that.
