It was the right call for me. It was a performance that honoured the song rather than being a series of drag queen standard moves.
The producers should have stepped in to stop most of those commercials being made...
I could not agree with you more about those commercials. When drag starts verging on misogyny, it’s no longer entertaining in any way and in my opinion, some of those commercials (aside from being woefully unfunny in general) definitely crossed the line.
Of all the variations of Drag Race, I think this one is the weakest across the board and it looks to me like both Ru Paul and Michelle Visage know it. I think after tonight’s lamentable episode, I’ll be giving the rest of the series a miss. Hopefully the upcoming series of All Stars will restore the quality and fun of the Drag Race at its best.
