She’s definitely more Patti LuPone than Donna Murphy.
Presumably they’ll just insert whoever they cast for the tour? Tamsin Outhwaite/Samantha Womack etc etc.

Luckily for Patti LuPone and Sutton Foster - they've never headlined a Broadway show with Fran and Barry Weissler as lead producers.

HEADS UP - it's cheaper Tues/Wed/Thurs compared to Fri/weekend (stating the obvious) if that's feasible for anyone. (directly with the Barbican)

This might get me to London this summer after all. What’s the legroom like in the stalls at the Barbican? What’s the front row like? High stage? Loads of leg room in the front row, stage around head height but because seats are set back a bit, you don't lose feet.

I wonder if they'll ask Stephanie J Block to do the final week? She was Sutton's replacement on Broadway.

I think the Barbican has some of the best leg room in any theatre in London, especially in the stalls. I inderstand your a Burley Bear, but at 6'1, my knees have never touched the row in front, and there's very few theatres i can say that about.

Got mine! FromTheBoxOffice has an exclusive upgrade offer with some really good deals, unfortunately not on any matinees which I need, but the barbican website did have a smattering of dynamic pricing(?), so I got a rear stalls for £45 when other days it was £75. Im so excited to see Sutton!

Georgie Ashford is cover Hope/ensemble. This is so endearing as she mentions Sutton and this was filmed BEFORE the world knew about Sutton replacing Megan.

What are we thinking in terms of orchestrations for this? Will it be a fuller orchestra or more likely to be the same as the Roundabout production?
Just spent more than I ever have on West end tickets for this, but no chance I'm missing Sutton!

Just spent more than I ever have on West end tickets for this, but no chance I'm missing Sutton! Who KNOWS? I saw Kiss Me Kate (Roundabout) and the orchestra was massive. I’m hoping they do keep the same orchestrations from the revival in any case, it’s so crisp and punchy. Logistics, not sure how big the pit is at the Barbican... I’m being extra but not sure if it’s changed since the days of Les Mis there, just a thought 💭

Is Sutton doing the tour? No, she's leaving a week before the London run closes for The Music Man. I don't even think we know if the tour is happening anymore.

I suspect the tour will happen but with a gap, maybe early 2022, with a UK actress leading it

Recording? I hope that doesn't mean they'll be singing to a pre-recorded backing track rather than having a live orchestra at the Barbican.

Would they really do a cast recording for a show that's only having a limited run & already has multiple cast recordings available? I mean, some new shows nowadays don't even get a cast recording, or are only recorded live rather than a studio recording, because of the cost.

Maybe they're just recording the orchestra for promotional purposes, for backing in adverts and the like (though I don't know why they wouldn't just use the existing Broadway one)? Cast recordings are so rare here nowadays I doubt they'd record a show when there's an existing recording for the same production on Broadway with the same lead.
