I think it very much showed up that one weak link in the cast.

I think it very much showed up that one weak link in the cast. I think I know who you mean. They don't seem 'present' on stage.

I feel I'm destined to never see this production,I had booked tickets in September but had Covid and had to cancel. I thought I could see at the cinema tonight but alas I'm snowed in!! It seems to have a further screening Weds so let's hope I can book on that. Seeing Sutton in this role was a 'bucket list for me 😞. Curling up with a tub of miniature heroes and watching Deck the Halls instead. Out of curiosity, have you tried looking at showtimes at a specific cinema or on the show’s own website? I thought there were only two screenings locally, but on the show’s website ( www.anythinggoesmusicalcinema.com ) there’s far more screenings. And it looks like it’s running until January in London.

It seems close to me it's just 1st December. There are some on 7th but thats a lot further away - but a good back up. Thanks for the website I had only looked at my cinemas times.

I think an earlier poster mentioned this might also be shown on BBC over Christmas.

I think it very much showed up that one weak link in the cast. I'm perhaps just used to their performance after seeing it 3 times now, but I didn't think they came off too bad, considering...

Isn’t that potentially death to the Barbican run and tour next year? Everyone and their aunties will have seen it!

Hamilton being on Disney+ and still selling super well since reopening both here and in NY has dismantled that myth I feel

If we are on about (edit: Nicole-Lily Baisden) then yeah, sadly I have to agree. Unfortunately she is a little exposed in the recording and visibly out of her depth. I thought she was okay when seeing it live, carried by the phenomenal cast, rather than supporting it.
Really enjoyed it overall and looking forward to watching okay on Boxing Day. Sutton Foster with the easiest award decision in Olivier Awards history.

Sutton Foster with the easiest award decision in Olivier Awards history. Wait, Carly Mercedes Dyer who played Erma?! Because she was easily a standout and her Buddy Beware brought the house down. I'm pretty sure everyone was talking about Nicole-Lily Baisden who played Hope. It's kind of a thankless role anyway but she sometimes struggled vocally.

Carly is a superstar!! 😍
And also slightly cheeky to be putting this on the telly after charging people to see it last week at the cinema!

Not sure that I agree it's the easiest awards win in history for Sutton now that Cabaret is open.
I mean if I had my way it'd be all four acting awards for Anything Goes (for Sutton, Robert, Haydn Oakley and Carly MD) but I think Cabaret could cause some serious competition for the leading categories...

Agreed, not sure anyone else has much of a chance outside of those two shows though (for leads at least).

How has Sutton Foster missed out on a WOS nomination?

How has Sutton Foster missed out on a WOS nomination? Because it’s driven by social media fan votes and social media fans love Carrie Hope Fletcher!

How has Sutton Foster missed out on a WOS nomination? Because it’s driven by social media fan votes and social media fans love Carrie Hope Fletcher! Surely they have to rig it to get her in though. It makes a mockery of the whole thing. Although any award show that doesn't require those voting to have seen all the nominees is a nonsense anyway.

The awards are always a total mockery. CHF wins every year. Anyone who's ever been in a film or on the TV gets nominated over actual theatre stars. Lily Allen is nominated for best actress for goodness sake, over people like Anna Maxwell Martin!
Ridiculous that neither Sutton or Rachel were nominated, and truly does prove they're an actual sham of an awards 😂

You can be disappointed someone you like isn't nominated, but there's no need to single out another woman as the 'reason' when that's not at all how it works.

Nobody takes the WOS awards seriously. CHF wins every time because social media popularity is her bread and butter.

It does seem crazy though that she wins WOS awards and fails to get nominated for Oliviers.
