Just wondering the general feeling about this. I was a bit disappointed. I was expecting a snappier script. Lovely acting from Hugh Laurie’s eyes! But James Graham it isn’t. ( would love to see Hare’s early tv stuff again)

Not usually too keen on political drama, but the plot got me hooked and some great performances with quite a cast.

Pretty bland all things considered. Not a patch on Page Eight. Also given what we're going through, there's a certain feeling that I just can't bring myself to care what happens to a Tory minister.

Woz wondering why they don't have a labour gov for these politicos. So much more interesting dramatically as James Graham has shown us. Is it because they think, wrongly, that they have to depict labour guys as flat cap with a northern accent? So they like the sonorous tones of the actors such as Laurie. Or was the piece written for him anyway? Just musing.

I don't know if writers are the same as Equity members, and have to use a unique name. If not, they should all seriously think about becoming David Hare.
It seems to be a surefire way to get a commission. Would make a great play...if submitted using the 'right' name!

Hare writes a poor man’s version of House of Cards, packs it full of cliches and tries to make some good actors get their mouths around some clunky dialogue and say things in ways their characters just wouldn’t.

It seemed so old fashioned. A Government Minister may have fathered an illegitimate child. Are we supposed to be shocked? It hasn't held Boris back. The illegitimate daugher's mother was black. Again are we supposed to be shocked?
I think the title "Roadkill" is appropriate. It is a horrible mess and I shouldn't look at it but I probably will.

It made me laugh quite often, not sure it was supposed to. Helen Mccrory seemed to be having great fun playing PM. Will be interesting to see where it leads. So many recent dramas have petered out by episode three, so not holding my breath.

It's all set for a 2nd series and I think the piece would benefit to a more conclusive ending.
The narrative is very much the same old left wing rant and I can see why the Beeb don't get many Tory thumbs up. Has the Beeb done a positive right wing drama?

For the many David Hare fans on here, White Crow (BBC films) is currently on iplayer.
I liked it and didn't realise it was DH until the credits.
