Has anyone else been watching the new bbc drama Life? It's just had it's second episode and I am really enjoying it. Elaine Paige even had a small role in episode 2. The performances are first class including the great Alison Steadman. Adrian Lester also appears. It interweaves the various stories with great success and is some tv escapism

I've only seen the 1st episode so far but really enjoyed it. Will be interesting to see how each story develops and intertwines.

I watched a whole 11 minutes and wondered off to watch something else. Came back some days later watched the rest of episode 1, then 2 even thought that meant going to be stupid early. There are some fairly hefty plausibility/plot holes going on but it's just delicious watching it and the cast is cracking. I'm shouting rather a lot at the majority of the men in it. Alison Steadman is a marvel.

Alison Steadman is a marvel. Indeed she is!! She only has to look without saying anything and it says so much. The mark of a true great.

A lot of coincidence in the plot but boy I loved this. I cried at multiplepoints but mainly around Adrian Lester's character coming to terms with grief.
I could see Alison Steadman, Adrian Lester and Victoria Hamilton all gettting nominated for multiple awards.

Started off well, but the final episodes were so predictable and clichéd. I don't think the outcomes of any of the plotlines were believable or dramatically satisfying.

I’m not sure that they were coincidences though, without giving any spoilers. Just guilt...and promises...and life. I thought it was nice enough. Agree that Steadman, Hamilton & Lester were the standouts.

I think you had to take a fairly big pinch of salt when it came to whether some of the happenings were likely and yes I'd agree for one strand at least you knew where it was going from the get go. But plausibility aside (think how mad series 2 of doctor foster was) I really enjoyed it and loved seeing these actors in these situations even if there were a bit mad.
