Thanks for putting a better link up. I've also had an e mail from the Theatre Support Group and there is no mention of Mr Tutty, the only red head I can see is Ms Langford

I think it comes a bit soon for me. I would have been very interested normally but I plan to keep my theatre trips as local as possible really as I ease back into things and I don't really imagine making my first trip back into London until probably July time.

I am so excited for this. With the sceduling changes I rebooked for Wednesday but then realised January may not happen so kept my saturday matinee ticket too so am lucky enough to be going twice. Will this be the first outing for our new Christine in phantom?

I'm pleased because I would have liked to have gone but it comes a bit too early for me to travel to London really, I might not have even had my first dose of vaccine by then so I just wouldn't risk it.

Really looking forward to streaming this at the end of the week. I was going when it was first announced, but ended up cancelling after several cancellations.

Is this the exact show that people have spent money on trains, hotels and tickets for, streamed at exactly the same time for free, without telling people when booking that this would happen? That seems not quite right to me...

Not going to lie, I was really peeved when I heard about the free live stream as well, seeing that I forked out £60 for a ticket. But then I am super tired of streamed theatre, so am glad I'll get to see it in person. Therefore I am kinda over it by now.... well, almost, still a little peeved. LOL

It’s a tricky one. The point is to promote that theatre is back. Due to the rescheduling of this and other things I’m going twice and will watch the stream too I’m sure, though not live as I’m out (I’ve got rather busy recently!!) As long as the Sunday paying audience still get a full show and no camera distractions then I think it is a great thing. A lot of concerts are filmed.

Agree its a difficult one. For me nothing beats actually being there and as its been postponed a couple of times I am really looking forward to it. But I can understand people might be travelling a long way and now could just watch it from home. I get the feeling that the live stream was only recently planned and probably most of us booked well over a year ago so there was no option then. You can't beat the atmosphere of a live audience. I have watched a couple of things streamed and was disappointed as could not feel the atmosphere. Maybe they thought by streaming it would give a lot more people the opportunity to see it and I believe you will be given the chance to donate during the streamed performance. And as the proceeds are going to charity to support the arts it will bring in some more money. I'm more than happy to support a great cause. Even though I will be there on Saturday I will still watch the stream to relive the evening again.

I’m going tomorrow evening and have decided not to be cross about the livestream thingy because really I want to be back in a proper theatre.
Am staying the night in town and heading off to Bath for a mini-break on Friday.

Am staying the night in town and heading off to Bath for a mini-break on Friday. I was there tonight, in the front row. A YouTube video wouldn't have been the same. While we were still socially distanced being in a crowd there for the same purpose increased everything. I also love that they are doing the stream, it makes it accessible for those who couldn't travel, or get tickets, or afford it otherwise. I'm lucky enough to be going again and will be in the upper circle so get a totally different view (I might see some feet!)

Even though I will be there on Saturday I will still watch the stream to relive the evening again. So I've slept on it, and am really trying to be gracious but I'm peeved. Of course I agree that there's a difference to being in the theatre and watching online but there's also an enormous difference between being able to watch online vs not getting to see it at all. It should either be that everyone pays or no one does. I also think that people should have been told this was happening at the time they booked as we have booked under the apprehension that paying money would be the only way to see it. I think it's reasonable to assume that if it was recorded to go online this wouldn't happen for at least few months not at exactly the same time that people are watching live in the theatre. It's actually really poor. Imo people here are likely to be more egalitarian about access to the arts as we realise its importance in our own lives, but a family who has spent a couple of hundred £ on tickets for a random great night out might not feel so charitable.

Nothing on The Shows Must Go On youtube channel has been chargeable to date has it? It’s all been voluntary donations. That’s a very fast change of plan abd not very much time to get ticket sales up and running.
I smell a cock up!
