No clear pattern then, which makes it difficult to work out what to book if you wanted to see one in particular! I thought that last night would have been Pepe/ Ricardo/ Maimuna

I had never read the whole of this thread before, but I did last night and now I know that Ricardo was meant to play Judas originally, it makes me more sure that he should sing the last show. But that’s probably just confirmation bias from me!

I'm going on the last night and thought Ricardo was awesome last year. Sure I'll be happy whoever is on though!

Pepe, Ricardo and Maimuna are on for the matinee today - I'm seeing it this evening, so I assume this means no Ricardo for me. (Which is fine because I loved Declan and Tyrone in 2016, but I'm dragging a friend along and was hoping I could introduce her to Ricardo's Judas.)
Just hoping the weather holds because I'm on the grass banks this time...

I have a ticket for this Wednesday evening- am really hoping to see Declan, but I don’t think there is going to be any way of predicting this now!

Just hoping the weather holds because I'm on the grass banks this time... You’d be pleased to know they are on tonight I was very happy to walk past the cast board tonight! They absolutely didn't disappoint. Also I was pleasantly surprised by the grass banks - it felt so much closer than the closest single seat, and the angle wasn't bad at all. I don't feel like I missed out on anything despite the more sideways view (but I also know this production quite well by this point, so perhaps not the best judge of that). I'll happily exchange a more centered view for this opportunity to see close-up emotion once more. I've never seen a Judas with as much desperation as Ricardo's, it kills me every time.
There was a light drizzle of rain throughout the entire show, and we did have to stop once so they could dry the stage, but it was only a five minute break. I'm wondering whether I'll manage a single rain-free show with the three tickets I have left...

Saw the matinee yesterday. It felt very good be be back at a theatre even if it was a slightly odd experience and we got a bit rained on.
I enjoyed the staging a lot - they did a really good job at making the restrictions seem like choices.

I might have imagined it but I saw someone say there was a page on the theatre site where they were just listing the single tickets available - does anybody have a link? Thank you!

On the event information page they list them all but I don't think they list what are available when without looking: openairtheatre.com/production/jesus-christ-superstar-the-concert

Seems it was Declan/ Tyrone/ Anouska this afternoon It was. I made a late decision to attend (but only to watch on the screen) once I'd checked the weather was going to be clear. The screen area is tiny and the grass isn't in a great state of repair. I sat further back on a bench so I could see everyone in front. You do get a bit of the screen (which is small) chopped off by the tree branches, but you also get that same problem in some of the grass positions. I counted 37 people in that area. Many of them had very weak bladders. One resorted to reading a book. And clearly face masks are optional and not enforced in that area. That was 37 at the start. Quite a few more by the end with people who had gone to the toilets not allowed back into the theatre. Some clearly not too happy. One having an animated conversation on his phone just by the lawn area. I agree with the ushers not letting them back in, everyone was told on entry. But they should fine them somewhere else to stand rather than be inflicted on the people who have paid for the lawn. One woman came and sat on the other side of the table I was at, ignoring the social distancing sign. I let it slip as she was elderly and I didn't want to cause a scene. Sound for the screen is very good. The picture quality had one major flaw as the cameras weren't white balanced (surely video production 101). But the view was probably better overall than the single seat I had when I saw this inside and I was able to see a lot more detail. Very good performances all around. A note to self is this just doesn't look as impressive for the matinee. The darkness at night really adds to things. And there are a lot of helicopters overhead. Finally, don't choose the lawn if you've a bird phobia. They kept swooping down from the trees without warning (and watch out for the raining acorns).

Last night I did wonder what happened to all the people who left and didn’t return. I’d assumed they were crucified.

ALW and Tim Rice were there last night:
(I still wish they'd give us a cast recording with Ricardo...)

V. impressed that Sir Tim had the foresight to coordinate his flat cap with the T-shirt of the actor standing immediately behind...even if it does look slightly odd on first glance. Not sure about the shoes though!

Pepe/ Ricardo/ Maimuna tonight, and we had a show stop of about an hour. I’d forgotten just how good Ricardo was as Judas. Disappointed to not see Declan, will probably try and book another ticket at least to try and catch him. I understand why they are not publishing a schedule but I wish they would!

im seeing this Saturday evening does anyone know what cast this might be? Was Declan, Tyrone, Anoushka tonight. There's no way of knowing unless you know somebody who knows the rota, and they've been mixing the combos up a bit. Whoever you get will be fab, but I'd probably put money on Pepe/Ricardo/Maimuna tomorrow. Enjoy.

There was a moment in the middle of the overture, when the music hit *that* refrain, when the sun came out from behind a cloud and hit the stage - one of those perfect timings you couldnt make up.
It left me cold in 2017, but I ADORED it this afternoon. Pepe is fantastic and deservedly had people on their feet after Gethsemane. And Ricardo is one of the most talented male performers I've ever seen. Incredible voice (it just goes on and on and it's EFFORTLESS) and we leapt to our feet at the end of Superstar having been dying to before that.
Loved David Thaxton blowing the metaphorical roof off the theatre. The noise and the music just worked so well - the staging probably evening more so than before. The Evita steps worked better I felt, and the simplicity of the crucifixion worked SO much better than the thing they did before.
Desperately want to go back and see it with full lighting in an evening, but I'm so glad I went. Theatre is fighting its way back - it's worth the money for a top price ticket if you're on the fence!

I see the lawn/screen tickets have been reduced to £10 each. They were £20 when I went last week.
£10 is a much better price and might tempt me back on a pleasant evening.

I’m not able to physically sit on the lawn- is everyone sat or did anyone bring g a camping chair? I’d be tempted back if I could. Now seen it twice with Pepe/ Ricardo but really want to catch Declan/Tyrone now.

You can sit further back in the cafe table area as I did (assuming no one has grabbed the seats already). You lose a bit of the screen where the tree branches overhang but the sound is clear.

As Dr Tom has suggested, you can also grab a table at The Grill. It's generally occupied as people are waiting to enter the auditorium, but they'll soon start clearing before the show starts so it's worth hanging around. And as someone with a bird phobia, I must have been too enraptured by the performance to have even noticed...
