They always are very professional as are the performances. Ive been going to West End Eurovision for years now and its honestly one of the best nights out, plus you are helping a great cause. I am always amazed by the standard of the performances. The casts really go to town both musically and staging. You can tell they have put a lot of work into the routines and not just cobbled something together at the last minute. The show used to be at 11.30pm and finished about 3am or later if you went to the after show party. That was even more impressive to think that the casts had just come off stage, legged it to the Dominion and performed all over again. The one thing that will be missing having it on a Sunday now is that everyone will probably be sober. Part of the fun of the late night show was that most people (myself not included) had had one or two drinks before the show which created a great atmosphere.

Two for one tickets here - says it’s for industry but it looks like it’s just a code. Not sure if it’s really two for one or half price...
Can’t seem to get the image to link but the code is MADEURO bookable online or by phone. Seen on the Facebook feed of MAD Trust.

Well it was a fantastic night. New smaller venue but we'll suited. 8 shows performed and the overall winner was Phantom who did an hilarious version of Conchita Wurst's Eurovision entry. All the entries were brilliant however Hamilton came last which was a surprise. We had intervalue performances from the UK's Eurovision entry and Lucy Jones from last year. Graham Norton was there to present the prize and lots of cast members from the shows. 42nd Street did Boom Bang A Bang and Lulu popped up at the end. Hopefully west end eurovision will be back next year.

I loved this, although I must admit the vibe was different to previous WEE. Probably it being Sunday evening rather than early hours after shows as previous. Quite surprised the audience wasn't up and dancing through Suris song, which I really like. Loved 42nd Street Boom Bang A Bang with a salsa twist, shame it didn't get more points. Phantom well deserved winner, they totally got the idea of the evening whereas Hamilton, who gave a good performance played it "straight" and not for laughs. Should have researched previous winners. Loved Dreamgirls too, very entertaining.
To clarify the comment made by the MAD Ambassador about the last guy getting heckled off stage in 2014, that was nothing to do with the charity. From memory, he'd put on a show and not paid the actors, so when he started talking there were shouts of "pay your actors". Nowt to do with MAD.

Agree about the atmosphere but in the olden days most of the audience were drunk by the time it started and by the time it finished at 3am some were incapable of walking out. Although I thought it was a pretty good atmosphere and everyone was having fun. Also agree about Hamilton. They didn't quite get the idea which is to send up the song. Their song was clever rather her than funny. The essential element of a winner is camp and OTT which phantom had. Definately one of the best nights out in ages.

Well I had never been before but I LOVED this last night! I knew from the introductory musical related stand up comedy section by the host that I would be enjoying the rest of the evening. Definitely well deserved winners - when those beards lit up with LEDs I had tears running down my cheeks.
Really hope this continues next year!

Expected the performances to be on Youtube by now. Does anyone have any clips? They usually put them on after a few days. I have clip of the winning song and a few pictures but wouldn't want to put the video on you tube as its probably against copyright

West End Eurovision 2019 on 28 April at Adelphi Theatre. Tickets on sale Friday 8 Feb at 10am. Aw, thanks for that, wondered if they'd be doing it again. Much as I enjoyed last year, I might hold off and get tickets nearer the time this year (especially as I'll be in Berlin on Friday).

Great news. This is one of my favourite nights in the theatre. As camp as a row of tents. Let's hope a couple of the new shows in the west end enter into the fun of it.
