I was invited for my booster last week and I’m under 40. Might be because we’re an ohmicron hotspot though.

Oh that's a shame, if you have some time Monday and your local centre is easy to get to, might be worth popping down to see if you can get booster. Can only say no and you still have your original date It's not that easy to get to, its on the other side of Cambridge & the round trip takes about an hour, but its not as if I have anything in particular to do on Monday so I may as well probably waste over an hour! Yep it works - lots of local pharmacy availability, I'm now getting mine on Tuesday! I've just had another look but its still the same vaccination centres with no new availability showing up for me. It seems that, as it was nearly a year ago when the vaccines were first being rolled out, availability varies like made depending on location.

They are saying the booster will help agin the omidoodha

Johnson is done. There cannot be any coming back from this, especially after emphasising how he'folowed the rules' at PMQs.

Maybe worth keeping an eye on local Facebook sites - someone posted that a local pharmacy was doing walk ins for one day only near us this week.

Is she the journalist who broke the story about the parties? If she is she said on TV the other day about receiving a metaphorical “brown envelope.”
I’m sure there must be some Tories out there with consciences, but I can’t help wondering who’s feeding her the information. A genuine whistleblower or someone trying to clear the path to No 10?

Winston Churchill famously said “the opposition sits in front of you, the enemy sits behind you.”
Not to write Boris off just yet, he could come out of this stronger, or next week could be the start of the slippery slope for Boris, with the Covid vote, which the Government will win but with help from the opposition, which is never a good thing. Then there is a certain by-election, which The Liberal Democrat’s are bookies favourites to win, then it is reported that the Conservatives are 9 points behind Labour in the polls. The economy is correcting itself after Covid, the forecast after this doesn’t look promising after Covid ‘treat myself’ boom is over. General elections are won and lost on the state of the economy.
I am a lifelong Labour supporter, but I be the first to admit that Kier lacks personality and none of the above was the best leader in the same survey that put Labour 9 points ahead, Andy Burnum seems to be the rising star.
But now isn’t a good time to write Kier off, neither is it right time to write Boris off.

So annoying. Can you stroll over to another county? 😁 Look up walk ins next door as it were. I did look at the town that's nearest to us over the boarder in Essex but that doesn't seem to have any walk-in centre & appointments weren't any sooner than the one I already have booked. The nearest walk-in centres I can find are 25+ miles away, which is too far away as I don't own a car & my mother's not prepared to drive long distances.

This afternoon I managed to stop myself worrying about covid for a few hours: I've been too busy being extremely stressed by the Formula One!

"Choosing" is the important word. There are people who cannot be vaccinated. This is why the government cannot have a blanket ban on the unvaccinated. I have sympathy for those people above advocating draconian measures on the unvaccinated but, in our relatively free society, it can't be done. I agree people who cannot be vaccinated, Someone in a Tree pointed this out with some of his clients' having autism, I would also agree it is unreasonable to expect someone who is psychotic to be vaccinated. I cannot think of anyone else who cannot be vaccinated? The vaccine is 100% safe. If you end up in ICU with Covid, the people treating you are the best people to decide if you can be vaccinated. If you can be vaccinated and you have had the opportunity to have all 3 doses and spurned these, then the NHS has a right to charge for your care. I have autism and fully vax

It infuriates me to see Johnson saying he wants to bring foward boosters for all to the end of December rather than the end of January when I've been trying for days to bring my booster forward to no avail. At this rate I'll only get done a week before the deadline & I should be higher up the vaccine order than that.

I feel the same about Max, hence my annoyance. But I'd be equally annoyed if it had been the other way around - rules are rules and they need to be upheld. Log on tomorrow or on Wednesday and try to rebook your vaccine.

I just went on to see if I could bring my jab forward and clearly everyone is doing that as I was in a giant queue then the site crashed. With what three weeks left of the month not sure how they'll get everyone done who wishes to be jabbed unless it suddenly gets more organised that it has been.
Right going to read about the formula one, not a fan but do vaguely follow, will clearly have to come back here if I don't understand.

Log on tomorrow or on Wednesday and try to rebook your vaccine. I've been trying to do that multiple times a day for the last few days, to no avail. It's like checking a theatre's website for returns to a sold-out show! I just went on to see if I could bring my jab forward and clearly everyone is doing that as I was in a giant queue then the site crashed. When I tried this evening it just stuck me in a waiting area & I couldn't even get as far as a queue.

Just crashed out again so giving up and presumably from tomorrow will be even worse. Must stop being cross at people younger than me saying I've had my booster and going but you're younger than me, how can you! Just luck of where you live, it was slow roll out where I am. And actually you're right it is like theatre, it always bugged me when reviewers say beg borrow or steal to get a ticket about sold out shows, I'm trying but there aren't any!

I think it's the initial hype after the announcement - it was the same for my first jab but booking was easy if you waited a day or two or logged on late at night/very early in the morning. Maybe try early on Tuesday. I wouldn't have got mine booked so soon if it wasn't for the tip off on here!

As with the initial vaccine roll-out, it seems London is the place to be to get boosted. Oh yes, that infuriates me too. Most people can't get to most shows. I remember a year or two before covid reading a review of an art exhibition in Paris where the reviewer said everyone must see it before it closed shortly. Popping over to Paris for an exhibition may be all in a day's work for a journalist living in London & getting all expenses paid, but it isn't for most people!

I wonder if we might see kids under 12 being vaccinated a lot sooner? At the moment it's not been approved but it's inevitable given it's happening elsewhere.
