OMG, BurlyBeaR, that sounds divine! (Anything with chilli and cheese on top is a winner in my book!) There was no time for lunch today, but there was a lunch/dinner crossover just now: Linda McCartney's veggie burger (no bun, just the patty), oven baked sweet potato slices, greek yoghurt/chilli sauce and gherkins.

I took one of my 'walks with playwrights' (which - to avoid giving londonpostie a heart attack! ;) - is a solitary walk around the city while listening to Dan Rebellato's 'Playwrights in Lockdown' youtube podcast; today's was the incredibly interesting David Greig one) and got back home starving, so lunch was a 5-minute (but delicious) effort: a carrot, tomato, baby spinach and cucumber salad and a pesto, Red Leicester and spinach quesadilla. Now to be followed by a coffee and a dark chocolate coated ginger biscuit!

What you do with Ben and Jerry and a pot of ice cream probably would give me a heart attack!

What you do with Ben and Jerry and a pot of ice cream probably would give me a heart attack! And there goes my board reputation as a nice girl you could take home to your mother (or to the theatre) out the window... Lunch was meant to be pizza. But I found myself next to an asian food store, and thought: Hmmmm. So I got some tofu and sesame oil and spices and lunch was a hot and spicy warm/cold noodle and vegetable salad with fried tofu, smothered in lots of sesame oil and soy sauce and topped with peanuts. Dessert will be a coffee and a peanut mochi (because who could resist them?!).

Today's lunch was really basic (and quick): green tagliatelle with pesto and a baby spinach and tomato salad.
Followed by a coffee and two dark chocolate ginger biscuits. (Never buying them again: they were so good that I finished the whole package in record time!)

Had a craving for a bacon butty, nothing else would do. Didn't make it past brunch-time. Now wondering how early I can justifiably have lunch...

Vegetable frittata and a small salad. Time to start rationing the sweets if I have any hope of losing the pandemic weight gain without access to a gym for at least another month.

I seem to be the biggest fan of this thread... (No surprise there, I love food and eating...)
I got some good news this morning, so thought I'd spoil myself a bit: today's lunch was a baby spinach, celery, cucumber and Feta cheese salad with roasted peanuts and blueberries. I might have a peanut mochi for dessert.

I seem to be the biggest fan of this thread... (No surprise there, I love food and eating...) I love reading this thread as well. Which, as the 'Travelling to Theatre' thread was also one of my faves, is making me think I don't actually have any interest in theatre after all! I do have to google occasionally what some folks have had though, most recently arugula, yuzu tea and instant ramen so I'm broadening my knowledge as well!

I need one of those template posts saying "I refer the honourable members to the reply I gave earlier" since today, for the umpteenth in a row, it was the usual cheese roll and apple. I've been on a very long walk (in remote areas so no social distancing issues except once back in my small town, heading home), so apart from a small banana that's all I've had all day so far, as I never eat breakfast before walking. Looking forward to refuelling at dinner!

I love reading this thread as well. Which, as the 'Travelling to Theatre' thread was also one of my faves, is making me think I don't actually have any interest in theatre after all! I am a fan of the off-topic threads too: sometimes they are just as interesting as the on-topic (theatre) ones. And since there really aren't any theatre ones at the moment, things like what we eat and what makes us happy is fine, and fun, too. :) Today it's an early lunch (because I went to the kitchen to get water and lost so much time talking to a flatmate, that I realised I may as well call it a lunch break and eat now; I am always hungry, so that helps!): couscous topped with tofu marinated in sesame oil, cumin and chilli and fried with some (pre-cooked last night) broccoli, and finished with some peanuts on top for crunch. To be followed by a coffee and some Green and Black's Salted Caramel chocolate.

Ham/emmental/tomato sandwich, ready salted crisps, an apple, and a banana. How spooky is that. I am working from home today so I had a toasted ham and emmental sandwich was well but with cucumber rather than tomato, also crisps but a plum instead of the apple. Footnote when I type in emmental it auto corrects to a mental!! Took me 4 attempts before accepting the right word.

Pepperoni pizza. I've been craving one for weeks now, and thought today was a good day to treat myself!
I went on a long walk afterwards to try and burn at least some of the calories (I walked from N1 to SW1 and back - I gave myself a mission to walk to the Royal Court, and I did - it only took me 7km and an hour and 20 minutes to get there) but I don't think the mission was a major success. But it was so good (actually, both the pizza and the walk)! :)

No lunch today as it is Saturday. Poached eggs, turkey and avocado on sourdough toast for brunch, with a fruit smoothie and a couple of coffees, all sitting outside in the sun.

Bao buns filled with sticky hoisin chicken & mushroom. And a shamelessly massive glass of wine.
