Two way streaming with the audience for an edition of The Infinite Monkey Cage: The Infinite Monkey Cage, Radio 4's highly popular and entertaining science/comedy show returns in a brand new format for lockdown! Professor Brian Cox and comedian Robin Ince are joined by some very well known celebrity science enthusiasts, and scientists, for a witty irreverent look at the world through scientists' eyes, in the first ever trial of a BBC remote virtual audience event! Tickets for this special recording are limited and will be allocated by random draw. You can register at any time until 10pm on Sunday 31 May. Successful applicants will be invited to watch and listen to this live recording using Zoom, allowing you to see and hear the presenters and panelists. In order for the BBC to be able to record your reactions throughout, you will also be given access to our Virtual Audience Recording system, which will need to be opened in an up-to-date version of Google Chrome on a PC or Mac (tablets and phones are not currently supported). In an exciting first for BBC Shows, you will be able to hear reaction from all other audience members live, so we hope that even though you are probably sitting at home, we can try and recreate the feeling that you’re part of a live audience! Audience members will be encouraged to react in the same way you would in a theatre - laugh, applaud and react whenever you want to, and when we mix everything together it will sound amazing! www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/shows/infinite-monkey-cage-virtual-1june20

Dont know if anyone else is watching this but its bl**dy brilliant. Opening with the overture from Gypsy which Ahmad got to be the greatest overture of all time. Some wonderful performances so far and a real highlight was Rob Houchen singing Finishing The Hat. Beautiful voice. Just waiting for Act 2 to start. Damian Humbley is in it and we dont see nearly enough of him on the theatre these days.

Just sent Alex Parker a thank you message in Instagram.

Do we know when the NT might announce more lives? Or will they stop after this week?

The Donmar Warehouse production of Coriolanus, featuring Tom Hiddleston in the title role of Shakespeare’s searing and political revenge tragedy. Streams from Thursday 4 June at 7pm.
I'm sure they'll announce something after that.

Well one of my favourite nights out is The Comedy Store Players, and tonight they are streaming a show from their archives, featuring Paul Merton, Josie Lawrence, Richard Vranch, Neil Mullarkey and Lee Simpson. Tickets are £7.50 (which is amazing value considering they usually cost £20!). I can't wait, I used to go a couple of times a month. The show will be available for three days afterwards so you can buy a ticket any time until then. www.thecomedystorelive.co.uk/shows/the-comedy-store-players-2020-06-03

Looks like the Bridge Theatre’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is on its way streaming to our homes. I guess through National Theatre At Home?

Oh fantastic, I was ill and couldn't go on the date I'd booked, then stuck in work for the NT Live screening and couldn't find an encore one. I was gutted I'd missed it!

Alvin Ailey Dance Company and Lincoln Center provide a rare opportunity for us to watch a professional recording of Ailey's masterpiece, Revelations, among others. The timing seems fortuitous. Goes up 8 p.m. US Eastern time on June 4 and will then be available for a limited time (doesn't specify) lincolncenter.org/lincoln-center-at-home Chroma, Grace, Takademe, Revelations (2015) Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater This 2015 broadcast features Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater performing a lush program teeming with grace and power. Alvin Ailey’s Revelations, described by The New York Times as “one of the great works of the human spirit,“ is a soulful masterpiece that draws on African-American spirituals, gospel songs, and holy blues. Wayne McGregor’s sumptuous Chroma features orchestrations of songs by The White Stripes, and Ronald K. Brown’s Grace draws on modern and West African dance with music by Duke Ellington, Roy Davis, and Fela Kuti. Rounding out the program is Robert Battle’s humorous, high-flying Takademe. Originally shown in cinemas as part of the series, Lincoln Center at the Movies: Great American Dance.

Nottingham Playhouse's Madness of George III is the next NT At Home, from June 11. Stars Mark Gatiss, Debra Gillett and Adrian Scarborough.
A good choice as it sold very well in Nottingham, a lot of people expected a West End transfer which didn't materialise, there's a film with which people might be familiar, and it's got some recognisable names.

Excellent choice, enjoyed this when I saw it, was it ever transmitted as part of NTLive? Yes! The run was extended by a week, and the live screening was on the Tuesday, I think, to allow for the set up. It was the first NT Live production from Nottingham Playhouse.

Very pleased, never got to see it originally. Though I don't think Nigel Hawthorne could ever be bettered, Gatiss is a strong choice and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with it.

I saw it in Nottingham and loved it. I hate Nottingham and the Playhouse, but it was worth going.

Nottingham Playhouse's Madness of George III is the next NT At Home, from June 11. Stars Mark Gatiss, Debra Gillett and Adrian Scarborough. For reasons I cannot really explain, I absolutely *love* Mark Gatiss so this and next week will be terrific: Coriolanus and then George III! (After that, keeping fingers crossed real hard for Annie Baker/James Macdonald's John, because it would somehow be the perfect antidote to the odd life at the moment...)

As you him so much, Forrest, you'll no doubt already know that Mark Gatiss is, as things currently stand, due to adapt and appear in a production of A Christmas Carol at Alexandra Palace. Like George III, it will be directed by Adam Penford, and is scheduled to begin a run at Nottingham Playhouse in October (though perhaps October 2021 is more likely than 2020).
