I feel ashamed. Born and bred in Cornwall but never went there. Is that the outdoor ampitheatre by the sea? Could be the only one able to safely operate this year!

Is there actually anything which has been streamed since the lockdown which wasn't available in some form beforehand? NT Live, ALW, Hampstead, Globe etc - OK, might only have been in cinemas or temporarily available but it's all been out there. I'm sure there must be something but can't be much. Not saying I'm not grateful for the chance to see some things again!

Is there actually anything which has been streamed since the lockdown which wasn't available in some form beforehand? Barbershop Chronicles will be an archive film, not NT live - maybe as the months go by and people get used to more basic filming we'll start seeing more things from the archives? Btw, the touring Barbershop Chronicles I saw was being filmed with multiple cameras so I presume the recording will be similar (?) though I got the impression the archived one being screened will be the London show.

Twitter hints from Dead Poets Live that they may be putting some of their Printroom / Coronet readings online from Friday. They've had some great readers for these but as they've generally been on Sunday evenings I have never managed to make it to one.

The two start a passionate love affair; however when Merle’s friend comes to stay, a love triangle begins that will test hope, passion and forgiveness.

Barbican - Complicité's The Encounter
The true story of National Geographic photographer Loren McIntyre lost in a remote area of Brazil in 1969, told through binaural audio by Simon McBurney.
First presented here in 2016, The Encounter blew away audiences.
This is the true story of National Geographic photographer Loren McIntyre lost in a remote area of Brazil in 1969, leading to a startling encounter that is to change his life forever. Simon McBurney’s solo performance threads scenes of his own life with details of McIntyre’s hallucinogenic journey, plunging the audience into a visceral inner voyage. As the mesmerising tale reaches its climax, this extraordinary tour de force asks urgent questions: about how we live and what we believe to be true.
Grab a pair of headphones (essential) and watch the performance online from Friday 15 May at 7pm BST until Friday 22 May 10pm BST

Since THAT other thread has been closed, I don't know where to put this, so I hope here is okay. A theatre in Germany has come up with a frankly genius idea. They were due to stage Rent this spring and they are now offering a concert version at the local Drive-In theatre. So people can just enjoy the performances from the safety of their cars. It's too far for me or I'd check it out for myself as Rent is one of my all-time favourites. One producer has also announced a similar musical concert as a Drive-In. Might be something for Britain to consider as well? The Netherlands are also giving this a go with a children's theatre show: www.musicalweb.nl/eerste-coronaproof-drive-in-theater-in-jaarbeurs-in-utrecht-met-juf-roos-18515. Who knows, it might take off elsewhere as well.

The Stephen Joseph Theatre is proud to present the world premiere of a new play by Alan Ayckbourn – Anno Domino.
The show, which is available exclusively as an audio recording on the SJT's website from 25 May to 25 June, is the writer's 84th, and will also mark his return to acting - 56 years after his last appearance on professional stage.
Anno Domino looks at the break-up of a long-established marriage and the effect that has on family and friends.
In it, Ayckbourn and Stoney will play four characters each, with an age range of 18 to mid-70s. It’s the first time they’ve acted together since Ayckbourn’s last appearance on a professional stage, in William Gibson’s two-hander Two for the Seesaw at the Rotherham Civic Theatre in 1964.
Alan Ayckbourn says: “The inspiration for Anno Domino came from the idea that all relationships ultimately, however resilient they appear to be, are built on sand! And it only takes one couple to break up abruptly to take us all by surprise, then all of a sudden everyone is questioning their own unshakeable relationship.”
The SJT’s Artistic Director, Paul Robinson, says: “Anno Domino is one of Alan’s ‘lighter’ plays, a hopeful and rather joyous piece which will provide perfect entertainment in these troubled times. This is a hugely exciting and very contemporary response to the current situation and shows yet again how Alan has always moved with the times.”
Anno Domino marks the first time Alan Ayckbourn has both directed and performed in one of his own plays: it is written and Directed by Alan Ayckbourn, performed by Alan Ayckbourn and Heather Stoney, with final mix by Paul Stear.

For anybody who has SKY TV -
West End Live has been cancelled for this year, but the concert goes on – through a new partnership with Sky.
For Sky customers, there will be weekly performances every Thursday night for six weeks from West End shows including & Juliet, Six, and Mamma Mia!. The first of these will take place on Thursday 21 May.
The experiences are offered as part of Sky VIP, a free add-on for Sky customers that grants added perks and bonus bits of content.
West End Live will then be sharing the new Sky VIP performances that Sky helped to develop on YouTube on the weekend of 20 and 21 June – what would have been West End Live.
Aside from West End Live, Sky VIP will also present workshops for 11 to 14 year-olds in tandem with the National Youth Theatre.

Daniel Kitson being Daniel Kitson, he is releasing his Gregory Church show, screening three times a day this week, but limiting capacity to the amount of seats in the venue, 300 or so. The website crashed immediately, one hour later no luck and I am out. I love the man and I hope he releases it elsewhere!
