Was London Road ever part of NT live? I'd love to see that again. There was a BBC TV adaptation with Olivia Colman and it's available on DVD. Thanks. Yes I have a copy of it. Good but not as good as the stage version.

Hopefully we will get Follies, Curious Dog and Yerma in the next bunch! Both Yerma and, surprisingly, Curious Dog are very sweary. The sort of thing that will keep them off, I think. War Horse would be a good one, though. The one that I would really love to see again is Complicite’s ‘A Disappearing Number’.

Do love my weekly visit to the National.
Tonight’s was preceded by a delivered takeaway curry (a first) and accompanied by a fine single malt, a perfect start to the Bank Holiday weekend.

I didn't realise Disappearing Number had been recorded, like you I would love to see that again. Complicite are re-releasing The Encounter next week so maybe there is hope... As for NT stuff, restoration comedies were mentioned above and I would love London Assurance or She Stoops To Conquer. If these are available for educational organisations to use, I don't see why, as suggested above, they couldn't be streamed for a fee.

The Wooster Group have made some of their productions available to stream from their website. Astoundingly, the RSC Troilus and Cressida is not one of them. thewoostergroup.org/blog/

I saw Five Easy Pieces at the Unicorn, daring in a way that UK theatre never really is. It took the horrific Marc Dutroux child abductions and had the story re-enacted by children. I'm annoyed I missed La Reprise, they take them off at midnight. They seem to be repeating some occasionally so I hope we see it again. In a similarly unsettling manner, the one time comedian turned performance artist Kim Noble has his one man show 'You are Not Alone' streamed by the Münchner Kammerspiele on Saturday. Again you have to be quick because they change them daily. Coming from a country in which theatre often tries to be daring to compensate for lack of funding - which leads to both hits and (striking) misses - I cannot find it in me to personally complain about UK theatre not being daring enough, but I absolutely see your point. It's a pity that UK theatre sometimes isn't more open to experimenting, since it seems to lead to some brilliant names being encouraged to experiment elsewhere. 'La Reprise' was the same, btw, an absolutely challenging and thought-provoking piece of theatre. Thank you for pointing out the Kim Noble show. I will absolutely try to see it!

Having now cleared my calendar of booked shows it looks depressingly empty so have started filling it with the first broadcast times of Streams I want to watch, partly as a reminder but primarily for the perception of some type of normality.

Hay book festival is online next week - I've never been (felt a bit too Posy-Simmonds-characters type thing for us & out of our price/petrol range) but there are some thesp-filled readings included (Cumberbatch et al), and talks etc.

London's Royal Court will be launching a new streaming project tonight – ‘caretaker’ beaming out its empty auditorium to the public.
The idea, created by Hester Chillingworth, will see the uninhabited stage presented online, with the video punctuated occasionally by witty audio messages. Though according to the venue, "more often, there will be silence." It is unknown how long Chillingworth's performance installation will run for.
Unsure of the concept, something to have in the background when listening to Shoe Lady when it is broadcast and suppose I will be able pop into one of my favourite places whenever I like, now all I need is one of their seats which are most probably the best of any Theatre to get the full effect.

This House is laden with expletives, yet that's been allowed to show. Wonder if the NT will censor it? YouTube has a strict policy on profanity. F-bombs have to be bleeped out if a video wants to be monetized. Not sure if the fundraising aspect changes this but we'll see...

Since THAT other thread has been closed, I don't know where to put this, so I hope here is okay.
A theatre in Germany has come up with a frankly genius idea. They were due to stage Rent this spring and they are now offering a concert version at the local Drive-In theatre. So people can just enjoy the performances from the safety of their cars. It's too far for me or I'd check it out for myself as Rent is one of my all-time favourites. One producer has also announced a similar musical concert as a Drive-In. Might be something for Britain to consider as well?

Is it free or do you have to pay? Seven day free trial if you sign up on BroadwayHD.com (not via the BroadwayHD app). It's £7.49 a month if you continue to subscribe after that.

Is that when she did Losing my Mind? If so I have a CD single of it at home. I remember when it was released I couldn't find it in any shop (This was long before downloads and 'tinternet). I ended up going to the record company office in Soho Square and asked them where I could get a copy. I think they were so surprised I had just walked in off the street that they ended up sending me the CD.

This is part of her collaboration with the Pet Shop Boys, right? Indeed. She did a few of the songs from the collaboration at one of her RAH concerts dressed in a see through plastic mac!!

Even though I was in Australia at the time, I do recall certain televised interviews where she states in excited expiration that she's appearing on Top of the Pops singing Sondheim!
