What’s going on with the Donmar? Cast members are tweeting that Far Away has been cancelled but the Donmar themselves haven’t said a word, are silent on social media, are still selling tickets and I just received an email from them saying this evening’s performance is going ahead which clearly is not true.

I’m assuming that the repayments for cancellations will be done on a day by day basis, i.e. today you will be refunded for performances that were meant to take place last night.
The only exceptions would be productions like The Endgame where the run has no intention of re-opening.
All in all we need to be sensible and don’t spend the next few days haranguing poor box office staff who are already stressed out worrying about their own livelihoods.

Very sad for shows/casts/crews etc. who may have performed their last shows without realising.

I'm glad I managed to sneak a ticket to the first evening and was lucky enough to see Marianela Nunez and Vadim Muntagirov when I did. It's worrying times all round for the industry though.

Wasn't sure where to post this (since there's like 3 different CV threads going on), but St Martin's/The Mousetrap had to close last night for I believe the first time since the start of its run!? I booked via hotelsdirect a hotel/theatre package, and I want to cancel and get a refund for at least the hotel. What's the best way to go about this? Problem is we don't know how long St Martin's/the West End is meant to be shut for. For all we know it could be back open in a matter of weeks, so I'm a bit stuck here! Help!! There is now a statement on the hoteldirect website www.hoteldirect.co.uk/They will contact you to "discuss your options", prioritising those who are travelling soonest.

How long do we think that theatres will be closed for? I note most statements refer to "until the end of the week" or similar but surely we are looking at several weeks? Or really until the peak has passed which could be months.

Or really until the peak has passed which could be months. I’d doubt anything will properly open until August at the earliest. There is also “talk” that this will go on for another 18 months, until a vaccine is produced. people really don’t understand the severity of this. Life isn’t going back to normal tomorrow. Or next month. We live in a different normal now

I am now really regretting having booked for a May Nunez/Muntagirov performance rather than a March one. With the other casts I wanted to see - Hayward/ Corrales, Naghdi/Ball, Magri/Sambe - all coming later in the run, it means I still have never managed to see a live Swan Lake. Guess I'll have to dig out the recording from the original run that was on the TV last Christmas. Oh well, on the plus side at least I now don't have to feel guilty about not booking for The Dante Project!

My Matt Ball's show hasn't been cancelled yet tho

If this virus keeps mutating, as is feared, things will never go back to what we've previously considered normal.
Otherwise, if this outbreak is symmetrical, it's three months to the peak, then another three months to be back at the level we're at now. Possibly some limited reopening of entertainment venues then before the second wave.
Now, hopefully things aren't that bad. We'll get a more measured view from the countries that are ahead of us on the curve. But that won't tell the whole story if they have different climate patterns, or particularly if they're in the southern hemisphere.
And there's a chance we might get a vaccine sooner than the 18 months being talked about, all assuming the virus doesn't mutate.
I do think we'll see major changes to how to the world operates as a result of all of this.

At least it staggers the filling in of refund forms, I've only had to do 3 so far! I really can't imagine the ROH is going to be able to do anything more this season though, unless a miracle happens. Of course it would be that the first season I finally decide to fork out for Friends membership, after 15 years of ROH attendance, about a third of the season then almost certainly gets cancelled!

Should Sunday in the Park be delayed at the Savoy for logistical reasons, maybe 9 to 5 could stay open a little longer. Just a thought.

As much as I hate to say it, it must be a near certainty that the Edinburgh Fringe will be cancelled, if Glastonbury and all the other Fringes seem to be. I mean on the plus side it would enable me to save up for Fringe 2021 and go for the whole month but equally I love the Fringe so much as was really looking forward to it.

I hope the air a lot of these performances on Sky arts, we will all be missing many performances of so many shows, it would be nice to treat us while we're isolating at home. I believe this will be the end of the season now.

All shows cancelled at the Kings Theatre and Theatre Royal in Glasgow up until the 26th April.
They are ATG venues so I can only assume that will be the same for all of them.
I work for them and got an email this morning although they haven’t publicly posted on social media about it yet.

Even if theatres were to re-open in 3 months, which doesn't look likely, they won't be able to get all the non-UK-based singers in to rehearse & I shouldn't think the dancers will be able to stay fit enough go straight back into performances after 3 months of being stuck at home.

This year was going to be my biggest year of theatre going yet, i had a whole Word document/ list of the shows i was planning on going to, it was nearly double what i'd managed any other year. What with all this, it looks like it will actually end up being the quietest year!

With all ATG theatres now confirmed as closed til 26th April, wonder if the Phantom tour will now bypass Manchester entirely?

Just had an email from ATG with a link for rebooking tickets already purchased. It says "you may like to reconsider dates after June" which is a pretty strong hint that they're planningon staying closed til then

On top of that many cancellations seem to take in dates up to early June. I consider Glastonbury a bit of an anomaly as they were due to get on site building the fence last week so had to make the call

Hairspray & West End Live? Yes, Hairspray is a confusing one. I haven’t seen any official announcement about it and some sites seem to still be selling tickets for the April dates. I wonder when The Coliseum will clarify this?
