Booked! Though I do find it amusing that they've booked Diversity, but there is precious diversity in the line up of all men aside from Beverly Knight

Booked for the side front row. A little expensive, but that's to be expected.
There are some cheap £25 singles left at the back of the Grand Circle too on many dates.
I don't think the word has got out widely yet (or people are being cautious). But this will be my Christmas treat.

I got two centre front row seats for a matinee between Christmas and New Year. Excellent booking system and more seats are available than I anticipated. Price a fraction less than last year.
Would not have known about it until after 10am without Theatre Board as my first email notification came through at 10.07. Very happy.

Blimey, some people are never happy. Sleepless in Seattle...or is that somehow different?

Blimey, some people are never happy. Sleepless in Seattle...or is that somehow different? Very different. I was making a comment on an EPK which had been released which showed us what we could expect for our money. Barnaby is making a comment on a show we know nothing about yet. But thanks for joining in.

What about Scousers? Asians? Stop with this box ticking nonsense!

What about Scousers? Asians? Stop with this box ticking nonsense! Yes you're absolutely right, 98% men and Beverly Knight representing all women is the right way to go. Never mind all those young trained actors with zero work who could have been given the opportunity of a lifetime...

Looks like another female artist to be announced next week.

Looks like another female artist to be announced next week. ...and one presumes a full chorus, of whom at least one graduate will be allowed to sing the female parts of ‘Reach’ by S Club 7...unless Mr Yarrow insists that he can hit it just as strong & zingy so they don’t bother. For what its worth, I think that the imbalance is pretty shocking, even if....woooooo....another female is announced. “Me too was last year luvs, we’re doing minorities this year....it’s celebrity diabetics in 2021! Biggins & Dom Littlewood have already signed, and Tom Hanks is on the screen. “

I can't be doing with Christmas, but out of all the shows I've seen announced so far this is the one I'm actually disappointed I won't be able to see.

Why not wait and announce the entire cast then? The women being announced in last years Goldilocks seemed like and afterthought. This is terrible gender representation. Panto is always pretty man heavy but this is a joke.

WHY CAN YOU NOT JUST BE HAPPY FOR ONCE Bunch of MISERY from the same people all the time. I think mostly, because the current M:F ratio is 17:1. Bury your head or don’t care if you like but thats the answer to your question. Sorry to be such a misery eh?

Best we just make do with a greatest hits of male panto tropes to represent society....you don’t have to represent 52% of society when theres been a pandemic; it’s in the small print. Panto isn’t due til December anyway, so wetting oneself at ‘Palladium Panto repeat round four’ seems a bit odd. Do enjoy though.

THIS! How people can slightly complain after this year is STAGGERING. Pointing out the inequality of casting isn't complaining, just stating a fact. Well don't see it. Now is not the time to be getting on a soap box. This production will be the catalyst for shows re opening. Look at the bigger picture rather than thinking yourself rather clever at a time when most people are not interested in this nonsense.

I just had a look at the seating plan to see how their seating groups work. You're basically booking the entire designated group of seats, regardless of how many in your party. I'm fairly sure the Bridge isn't doing that, as I had a single seat in a cluster of four and I only paid for the single. (Although there were some seats at the Bridge that I couldn't book as a solo, since presumably at the time they still hoped they could sell all the seats in the cluster.)
Has anyone seen information on any changes to the ventilation system at the Palladium? HEPA filters or increased airflow or directing airflow away from the patrons or anything?

This production will be the catalyst for shows re opening. Look at the bigger picture rather than thinking yourself rather clever at a time when most people are not interested in this nonsense. I would argue that the fact that there is an ongoing discussion on a theatre discussion board about the issue means that least some people are still interested. You can still be excited to see the show and discuss any shortcomings.

I see that the Palladium pantomime is being subsidised through the National Lottery, "buying" seats that cannot be sold for the obvious reason, and other pantomimes are expected to follow. Wouldn't be happening otherwise.
Excellent initiative, there will no doubt be some who say there are more important good causes to support, but I certainly hope it will be extended to other theatre in 2021
