She’s well within her rights but it’s blatantly nothing to do with privacy, since they’re happy to trot the kids out at every opportunity. It’s about money and playing silly power games with the press with the poor children as pawns. Both William and Harry seem so damaged by what the press did to their mother, but the royals survive due to the unspoken agreement. Where will it end? I think the claim is that Kate's taken away the opportunity for "exclusives" from the papps, and quite frankly, serves them right. Why should they make bank for intruding on someone's life? I really hate the elements of the British press that claim anyone in the public eye has no right to a private life - that they invited the intrusion. I think the Windsor's deserve downtime without long lenses trained on them as much as anyone else. Supposedly, the papps were sending drones over Tyler Perry's grounds in hopes of getting photos of Archie while Megan and Harry were living there. I think there are laws against extreme measures in California that some of the papps go to - climbing trees in neighboring gardens, long lenses through windows, etc, but I don't think they've caught up with newer tech yet. If that's the price of fame, no thank you.

Despite spending 10 years as an officer in the army, with tours to Afghanistan, we're now expected to believe that, rather than the Taliban, Harry was terrified by his brother shouting at him.
Poor love.

Hmm yes, I’ve always thought that being famous is overrated! Give me rich and anonymous over ‘rich and famous’ any day!
It’s funny, it has struck me before that the people most furious about Harry and Meghan ‘whingeing’ and leaving are the ones most invested in the idea that being a Royal or marrying a Royal is a fairytale. That being part of a very rich family with big palaces and pretty jewellery must be wonderful.
It’s always looked like a thoroughly miserable existence to me.
Now, yes, of course, being thoroughly miserable with a roof over your head and a full belly every night is very different from being thoroughly miserable living on the streets, or struggling with the option of either heating or eating.
But human brains are remarkably resistant to the notion that ‘many people have it worse than you’. When you are miserable, stressed, or depressed your brain is totally focused on that. This is not a personal flaw, it’s inherent in humanity - if this were not the case just about everyone would be a lot happier and mentally healthier.
Anyone in that situation would be looking for ways to get out of it.

Poor love. I know this will shock you, but Harry doesn’t love anyone in the Taliban. Having people you love furious at you and attacking you is a very different thing. We are vulnerable to hurt and fear in a totally different way with the people we love. But this basic understanding of human relationships and emotions appears to be beyond some people. 🙄

He's lucky to live in a household where no one continues to be under investigation for the bullying of numerous staff:
Also, I just to be clear that no one in my family has ever shouted at me and I have never shouted at anyone I am related to. That sort of thing does not happen in good families.

As ever it's a one sided story from them, howling despair about the slights to them while showing no compassion or concern to how their barbs wound others. Having been caught out on so much already with their neverending changing version of their stories they should find they are challenged with their outpouring than they have been. 100m for selling out your family will at least buy them comfort in their bitterness filled and lonely future.

It’s December 2022. They are talking now about the things that happened in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.
If Samantha and Thomas Markle has just behaved like normal family members, instead of just running to the press at the first opportunity, the situation would doubtless be different.
If the staff of certain members of the Royal Family had not leaked stories to the press multiple times, including details of the proposed plans to move away, the situation would doubtless be different too.
Things are as they are because of what has happened. It’s not where Harry and Meghan wanted or anticipated being at the outset. Everyone reaches the end of their tether at some point.
And honestly they’ve been quite careful and selective about what they have said about individuals. For example they don’t touch at all on the nature of the negative stories about other family members that got buried in favour of attacking Meghan. Meghan even keeps suggesting that her father is not solely responsible for his terrible behaviour (insisting that the letter must have been signed for by someone else, thinking his phone was ‘compromised’).
They’d have been better able to cope if they’d been less naive and more cynical.

They were not paid 100 million 'to sell their family out', they were not in fact paid 100 million for anything AT ALL. They have a 100 million 'production contract' with Netflix IE they have 100 million to spend on making the productions they wish to make. The only 'payment' they receive themselves is for whatever their roles are on whatever production it is they make. There is no way Netflix would've signed such a deal with them without some sort of 'tell their story' programming first, as this is more than likely the only thing they will ever make for them that anyone will even watch in large numbers. Of course it's a one sided story, that's usually what happens when you pay someone to tell 'their' story. We're all well aware of the other sides story and frankly there is absolutely NOTHING in this that we didn't already know. I watched all 6 hours. There was no change to any of their story and there was also no bitterness or anger on display at all towards anyone other than the gutter press and a truly outdated 'institution'. In fact as far as the family was concerned, it all really sounded pretty amicable all things considered. I thought it was a well made and very interesting series and I came out of it liking, respecting and admiring them. I also like the Royal Family and it really didn't change my opinion on them at all. In fact I find the whole thing really very sad. But in the end, frankly, none of it is anyone else's business and hopefully this will be the end of it and everyone can move on with their lives and be happy.

Both the Royals and the Markles “sold out” their family over and over again for years before Harry and Meghan ever said a single word. He's lucky to live in a household where no one continues to be under investigation for the bullying of numerous staff:

That was made up by Jason Knauf, and all the people he alleged were bullying victims asked him to retract it. Not one person is on the record as saying “Meghan bullied me” when they certainly would earn a fortune from the tabloids and the eternal good will of the Royals for doing so (Knauf got a plum CEO role with no experience as reward for helping sabotage Meghan). The alleged bullying is weaselly-worded stuff like “undermining” or “sent emails outside working hours”. On the flip-side, where’s the investigation into the many many accounts that Andrew is physically and verbally abusive to staff? The time Prince Charles’ former valet went on record as saying Charles was physically abusive and had one choked him? And please remember this is an old tactic we’ve seen before. In the 80s there were tabloid articles claiming Diana bullied and was a nightmare to staff. When Will and Kate were early married the tabloids wrote articles claiming Kate and her mother were nightmares to work for, that they refused to abide by protocol, and claiming the reason the Cambridge household had such huge staff turnover (which they did have higher staff turnover than the Sussexes, and still to) was because Kate was a nightmare. Only a couple of years ago one of Kate’s main staffers did an “a friend says” interview with the Daily Mail claiming Kate was an awful boss who fired the staffer while she was on her honeymoon. No one who’s worked for Meghan has done that. In terms of family, Meghan appears to be close or at least on good terms with her mother’s family, and her paternal nieces. The only people she’s publicly on bad terms with are her father (faked a heart attack and stroke, all his children disowned him, repeatedly sold out his daughter and spent years harassing and threatening his own daughter for money) and her half-sister she barely knew (pathological liar, runs a hundred Meghan hate accounts, found guilty of child abuse in court, faked a car crash, disowned by all her children, her own daughter said she’s an abusive racist).

You're really doing this? Uh huh, technical analysis has already described this as ‘review bombing’ - people making multiple new accounts just to leave a negative review. It’ll be the same people using VPNs to make multiple Twitter Accounts dedicated to hate content about them. And there’s a reason for that - there’s a very lucrative ecosystem of ‘influencers’ monetising this content on YouTube and other social media platforms. Which was of course covered in the series.

Poor love. I think you'll find most people who have been in active combat (while you were no doubt sitting in a nice air conditioned theatre somewhere watching Sondheim) have a very bad reaction to loud noises of any kind and that someone shouting at them would probably set off their anxiety. As Harry has been seen many times in busy public engagements doing CBT 'taps' it is pretty obvious he suffers from some form of PTSD, so to make such a comment to gain gotcha points is actually a little distateful.

It’s much like the Shondaland deal - it covers content to be produced over multiple years, but it gets reported on as of it’s a one-off thing.

IMDB is a racist, homophobic, misogynist, incel's completely unmonitored playground. It was the first major internet forum ever shut down because of such behavior as it was so rampant they couldn't monitor or control it. Now they just do the same thing via the rating system. 90% of these 'ratings' are from people who have never watched a second of what they are rating.

Apparently the mass wearing of burgundy at the Royal carol concert is a signal to Megan that everyone royal is united against her!! Cos burgundy is the ultimate royal colour, rather than a cheap French wine. Dead Ringers on Radio4 had a marvelous Simon Smarmy historical documentary about the civil war between prince Wills of the Alopecia and Fresh Prince Harry of Belair with commentary from Sir Nicolas Witch of Arselickery. Suitable amounts of deference given to all involved!

It looks like the Royal Press offices have been caught out this time variety.com/2022/tv/global/harry-meghan-docuseries-buckingham-palace-1235464017/I count 3 claims from the documentary about briefing and lying that have been evidenced in this one story: 1. The press offices giving the negative briefing to journalists 2. The negative briefing being a downright lie 3. The follow-up face saving briefing is also a lie, because one of them did respond to the initial contact and then stopped, and the other didn’t try and contact anyone at Archewell until after the deadline had passed. It also kind of looks like they deliberately sent their requests for clarification to Netflix and Archewell staff who are unrelated to the production (Netflix haven’t even been able to locate the email!), knowing they couldn’t possibly get a response by the production deadline, so that they could claim the lack of response was not their choice and that they didn’t get a right of reply. They could have just said ‘no comment’ up front instead of trying to use their tame journalists to smear the production company. They should have realised that they’d get push back from the companies involved - it’s their professional reputations at stake.

You can’t believe that our dear future King has an anger management problem? You’ve obviously not seen the many gossip stories featuring anonymous ‘Palace sources’ that describe him being ‘incandescent’ and ‘furious’.
That’s the thing about briefing the tabloids - they don’t actually care about William, they are just biding their time until they knife him in the back. They’ve been dropping hints like that for ages even among stories that are meant to be positive towards him.
Harry is far from the only person who William has screamed and shouted at. He’s just the first that has gone on the actual record and not hidden behind anonymity.

I know I read at some point in the last few years that staff at Clarence House have witnessed William screaming at his father, and Charles being as averse to conflict as Her late Majesty, simply takes it meekly. I don't know about William; considering the overload of media abuse his parents took over the years, and the leaks from both sides, I don't blame him for being suspicious, but purposely planting false rumours with different people to test their loyalty, making Kate wait for ten years before finally marrying her, cultivating an affable image when he's temperamental and said to be stubborn as well...why play games with people you supposedly care about? Why test them? Let's say my level of respect for him is below that of his brother or father. At least he is married to someone who is sensible, who's been willing to play the game without appearing to break a sweat. No one asks to be born into that family, but frankly that's not a life I'd want to marry into either.

Funny how Harry seems to get a pass for all his behaviour recently and over the years (he's just a lad, his mother died, he had to walk behind the coffin etc). Typically younger child being excused. Yet William who had all that, but was also older and had to deal with all the intimate stuff about his parents while at school and being an emotional crutch for his mother never gets the same. Both have admitted to having counselling (which is available to the royal family, Princess Margaret had it too) so they obviously both have issues.
I can imagine William being difficult and maybe losing his temper (look at both his parents) at times. But its interesting that they don't go through staff like the Sussexs have in the last few years so it's hard to believe William is some raving aggressive psycho

Obvs there are so many rumours about the royals but this one surprised me at the time. Giving this thing about William's anger management issues, now that gossip seems more plausible...

But its interesting that they don't go through staff like the Sussexs have in the last few years so it's hard to believe William is some raving aggressive psycho The Cambridges actually went through more staff than the Sussexes did within the same time period, it just didn’t get any press coverage. Many of the Sussex “staff exits” the tabloids made a hoo ha about weren’t even accurate: one major staffer announced her retirement before Meghan joined and agreed to postpone leaving to help Meghan settle in, but the press still implied Meghan drove her out. Two Sussex staffers who “quit” their existing jobs did so because H&M offered them new more senior roles. And the night nanny was only ever going to be a short term thing. The departure of Melissa Touabti (best friend of the infamous Jason Knauf) is shrouded in mystery and intrigue (allegations that she faked her CV - it’s hard to see why a nanny was hired to organise a royal wedding - allegations she was fired for gross misconduct, the fact she was then hired to be a live-in nanny for a billionaire Tory donor whose sister is a Daily Mail journalist, plus her involvement in Knauf’s own scandal). When they were first married Will and Kate had such high staff turnover the tabloids wrote loads of articles about how awful Kate was as a boss, how she was driving staff away, how Carole ruled the household with an iron fist, how Kate and Carole ignored royal protocol. Are people forgetting that? I actually don’t think staff turnover means anything; royals always have crazy high staff turnover because they’re famous for paying very little (the assumption being you work there for the kudos of being around royalty and because it looks good on your CV) and it’s the culture for more minor staff to put in a year or two then use it to leverage their way into a high paid position elsewhere. And there’s always staff change when the head of the household marries or moves. However Kate’s former right hand woman ran to the Daily Mail a few years ago to complain that she’d been fired while on her honeymoon “, with lots of comments about how many “sacrifices” she’d had to make for Kate. Recently Kate’s press secretary left and there are a lot of rumours they had to give her a big settlement for unfair dismissal (she was let go while pregnant). Funny how the press devote little coverage to that but acres of newsprint to “retired woman goes through with retirement.”
