If that was Sheridan she's improved a hell of a lot since I saw her in Funny Girl! Yeah, if Sheridan can sing like that why didn’t she bother to do it in Joseph?!

My thinking was on the same lines as Jonathan for Swan + a hint of Eastenders.
I've guessed two out of the three so far. No strong feelings on any of the others yet.

I agree with others that Harlequin could be Gabrielle. Lenny Henry for Blob and Ricky Wilson for Viking.

Going by singing voice alone, I agree that Harlequin sounds a lot like Gabrielle, though I'm not sure how all of those clues about writing work. She's a song-writer, so it presumably can work in some ways, and may well have had a lot of people writing to her, which she possibly used as inspiration for more songs. There was a clue that pointed towards someone who had been in the Bodyguard, which I don't think she has been, but that could be a mis-direction. Blob definitely sounds like Lenny Henry when singing, and he's a talented impersonator, so putting on a different voice for the speaking parts is well within his abilities. His career is very diverse, so I'm fairly sure you can find a way to make all of the clues fit him. I thought it odd that his name wasn't mentioned when they did start to consider comedians, especially Jonathon Ross, who I'm sure has heard him sing a lot. IMO, either he's deliberately not giving his name because he knows it's him and wants to maintain some mystery, or like Sophie Ellis-Bexter, his name was mentioned, but not included in the edit. I've seen some suggestions that Viking could be Morten Harket from AHA, which fits for some stuff, but I thought he was a better singer than Viking appears to be. However, attempts to disguise your natural singing voice will mean you aren't singing at your very best, and I've not actually heard him sing for years, so I might be wrong about his abilities anyway.

I immediately thought that Harlequin was Beverley Knight and agree that Blob is Lenny Henry. I've been watching the US version (which is excellent and involves quite a few mega stars) and my guesses have never been right so...!

That was a surprise unmasking tonight!
I’m going with Aston Merrigold for Robin, Stacey Soleman for Sausage, Gabrielle still for Harlequin, initially thought Courtney Act for Dragon but really not sure about that one now.
Fun TV 😊

Here are my thoughts!
Blob is so obviously Lenny Henry, it kind of makes a mockery of the whole thing. There's no way Jonathan Ross doesn't recognise his voice! Also, I thought Viking was Morten Harket: the voice (particularly the falsetto) is so like him. Is it too obvious that he sang his own song? I was thinking yes until none of the panel mentioned his name, afterwards, though they did mention the guy from A1 who covered 'Take on me'. Which is weird. No idea about Badger: he says 'Mom' though which presumably means he's either American or from the Midlands. Sausage - Was thinking Sheridan Smith or Natalie Casey (otherwise what are the 2 pints of Lager references for?) Natalie Casey isn't as famous as the others who have been unmasked so far though, and Sheridan's vocals are pretty impressive - although less so this week, I thought - so maybe it is her after all. (Although she had a baby this Summer didn't she? Would she really be going back to work so soon?) Lots of people are suggesting Stacey Solomon, but her speaking voice is so idiosyncratic I'm not picking it up from her VTs. Harlequin must be Gabrielle: 'Dreams' originally featured a sample of 'Fast Car' and it had to be removed for legal reasons. Aston Merrygold sang 'Rockin robin' on "Stars in their Eyes', so presumably he's Robin. And Dragon is Sue Perkins: after listening to her doing 'Friend Like Me' on week one, it's so clearly her voice.
I didn't guess John Thomson - although when you have clues like 'The Works of Chekov' alluded to the fact that he is a trained actor, that doesn't really do much to narrow it down. It's funny, as I saw lots more speculation that Thomson was Hedgehog last year than I have that he is Bushbaby.

cherokee Sheridan Smith was meant to do the tour of Cilla last September to December with baby in tow, so I'm sure she'd manage a tv show.

I was thinking yes until none of the panel mentioned his name, afterwards, though they did mention the guy from A1 who covered 'Take on me'. Which is weird. I did wonder if there was some kind of triple bluff going on with Viking being Morten Harket. Singing his own song, albeit in a different style, would be a bold move. But none of the judging mentioning him or AHA in the final edit feels like a red flag too. This is one of the reasons I'm so sure Blob is Lenny Henry. Not just that the singing voice sounds so very like him, but that Jonathan, and probably Davina, would have heard him sing a lot over the years on Comic Relief, so they'd have guessed him. I agree about the one from JLS. I couldn't remember his name, but the singing and mannerisms are a great fit for him. I had been annoyed at Dragon beating Swan, as I didn't rate Dragon much until this week when they gave a much better singing performance. This leads me to think that they are someone who can sing well, but had been hiding it in an attempt to disguise their voice.

I am convinced that Dragon is Michelle Visage, have been from the first episode. Is it bad that sometimes I want the people I am sure about to lose so that I can find out if I am right or not? LOL

I noticed that Rita Ora is/was on this, that had me reaching for the off button. Last year I had no clue who she was, but unfortunately I do now.

Still no clue on Dragon. I'm standing by Gabrielle and Lenny Henry for Harlequin & Blob.

Dragon sounds like Sue Perkins, have thought that since the beginning. I recognise Badger's voice but can't place it, same with Robin. Agree Harlequin is Gabrielle and Blob is Lenny Henry.

Aston Merrygold for Robin. Not a clue at all on Badger. Agree on both points! I really can’t even think of a guess for Badger 🙈 Initially thought Dragon was Courtney Act but now I’m not so sure, a few people are saying Sue Perkins so I’m really unsure of that one too. Robin gave a great performance tonight.

Given her recent law breaking, she is one who absolutely should be #cancelled I'm guessing this was recorded before that incident. I was already leaning towards Joss Stone for sausage, but then there was a joss stick featured in her dressing room footage, which apparently went un-noticed by the panel. She also said something about her name being mentioned, when her name had been mentioned for Harlequin. I can't imagine Harlequin as anyone other than Gabrielle now. There some talk of a Prince, and I think she worked with the artist Prince. It was a bit suss that the panel didn't think of a connection to the artist Prince, which is why I'm so sure that's what the clue meant. That Davina finally mentioned Lenny Henry as Blob led me to believe he'd be unmasked this week, and he was. I'm fairly clueless on Badger. I've seen some names suggested with explanations elsewhere online, but the favourite guesses are artists I'm not very familiar with.

Fun TV 😊 Yes I'm pretty convinced Sausage is Stacey Solomon now. In the group song at the start of the show she sang the line "They call me Stacey"... although given the song is called "That's not my name" perhaps it's a double-bluff! Such a fun show. The additional of Alan Carr this week was great, and I'm looking forward to Matt Lucas next week. Perhaps he could be kind enough to confess that he was really Bush Baby, to get rid of the egg on my face after being 100% convinced it was him!!

Harlequin said in week 1 they played a male lead in a musical. As people seem convinced it is Gabrielle, can you please explain how this clue can be justified/what it hints to in relation to Gabrielle as I can’t work it out.

I don't think that's the same Gabrielle, according to wikipedia she's a 51 year old black woman!

A friend of mine has just told me her theory on the cryptic clue where Harlequin dropped something and couldn't pick it up... it was "Out of reach, so far..."! Yes, pretty conclusive if you ask me. I've no idea which male lead she played, but it's a Week 1 clue, so I wouldn't expect it to be something well known or obvious. Her Wiki page is pretty sparse, so it's possible she did a lot of stuff that isn't included, and it could very easily have been a school production or similar.

I was very surprised by the identity of the winner! {Spoiler - click to view} Joss Stone is about my age and from very close to my home town (Exeter) so there was a lot of talk about her amongst my friends when she was famous and I had no idea her voice was that good. I was expecting it to be an American megastar but couldn't understand why the accent wasn't more obviously fake.

I didn’t watch this last year but this year stuck in lockdown it became one of my highlights of the week. Best bit was the absolute joy that most of the singers seemed to experience in performing anonymously and how much fun they had. I know it was cheesy TV and some of it doesn’t bear close analysis (e.g. no one on the panel spotting Lenny Henry) but what a tonic it was every Saturday night.

I thought it was too silly for me so didn't bother with the first series, but glad I watched it this time round. I really enjoyed it, simple, fun and the reveal at the end was exciting. Morten Harket was a pleasant surprise, and some of them played the game well, such as Badger with the rocker persona and the fake accent.
I youtubed Nicola Roberts' performances from last year and must say I did not realise what a great voice she has. I must look at the rest of last years' singers.
BTW, I hear they are doing a dancing version. Now I love dance but not sure how that will turn out.
