I had the privilege of seeing this production twice, with about two weeks between visits. I must say, I thought it was gorgeous and I've only waited on saying anything because it honestly left me so gutted. It wasn't perfect, it needs some tightening, and I don't think the framing device is incorporated as well as it could be (I love it, but it creates more questions than anything). Definitely four stars, but it's so close to absolute brilliance. I just wish they'd connect some dots and work on the emotional core a little. Act II hit hard, but some of the drama was unconvincing because lines where rushed through. That said, I really can't wait to see this again, if I can. What a production! I strongly agree with this, I thought it was a 5* act 1 and a 3* act 2, a lot of brilliant ideas but not always coherent. I didn't care for the shuffling around of some scenes in act 2, I think it had a negative impact on both the pacing, the humour and the depth of the act. I also got the sense that TG is not necessarily an actors' director and a few of the cast members seemed to be left to their own devices a bit too much. Still, it's a very strong cast and production, there's no reason why it can't enjoy a successful limited season in the West End with some tinkering.

Honestly, I've said it before, but I believe had the little girl been humming the bean theme/Rapunzels aria motif during that prologue, it really would have added so much depth to the framing. Agreed! I think they shoud get rid of the "Are yooooou ready?" bit too, she only needs to ask the old man.

If it's spring, that means Alex Young should be available for Sky's Edge first. It wouldn't be the same without her!

Do hope most of the case transfer with it. London deserves Nicola Hughes' Witch.

Do hope most of the case transfer with it. London deserves Nicola Hughes' Witch. truly!, I can agree with previous comments about a slightly misguided direction, but the cast is almost perfect. There’s a lot of life within the show but it just needs to find it’s feet. As mentioned, nothing a new AD can’t help to mend. ..Hoping to see this again for sure

Some account member posted that it was being announced this week. Really don't know how I feel regarding Terry Gilliam. But love into the wood.

He's already got a co-director, which I imagine might have been partly to give investors more confidence than they'd have in him solo, though I understand she's very good in her own right.

Nothing to do with them having worked together previously on a number of productions. In fact Hausman came in on Benvenuto Cellini with Gilliam as AD.

Might we get the transfer announcement, including details of where and when, this week? Here's hoping!

Baz's article about Aspects of Love says it's previewing from May 12th, so could this go into the Lyric between Bob Marley and Aspects?

12th May Aspects opens according to Nimax website, so mid Jan to May is a nice window for something woods-like…
