Given that he's such an important part of the story line in the first act, it's interesting how Milky White is the only character in the show not to carry across to Act 2 It’s not that interesting to be fair.

I think the implication is she fell foul of either indigestion or the giant's foot

Faith Pendergast (Milky) is a dancer, I’m sure she’s flexible and knows how to do it !!! The way the costume works has her arms higher than legs I believe, so must offer some more support she does it fantastically though That photo is also just a snapshot from the show. 1 frame from nearly 3 hours of nonstop movement. Milky far from spends the duration of the show hunched over stationary. The rehearsal footage on WoS socials demonstrates the movement quite well as only the legs are used, no cow head or torso. Trained to do it, paid to do it. Does it….really well. x

In this production Milky White is present during the first song 'Happy Ever After' - thanks to Jack's pilfering she's got a lovely new gold nose ring and gold adornments on her feet!

Repeat visit today for this afternoon’s matinee. Tighter than 3-weeks ago in places and still manages to hold your attention for the duration even with familiarity to the surprises. Complete evacuation about 15 mins from the end of Act one. Very efficiently dealt with, with what felt like just 5 mins in total spent outside before everyone was readmitted, then not much longer til the safety was back up to rapturous applause. Particular mention of Barney’s Jack who’s delivery of Giants in the Sky has matured well and floored me. Ensemble songs are so hard hitting in their delivery. It’s a real joy to experience. Wish I could stay round til Saturday to catch the last few performances, I suspect the muck up matinee might be a real treat! Really hope it gets a further life.

Packed house tonight After many years avoiding bath due to the horrendous traffic getting here even from Bristol it is nice to be back in the theatre. Have mixed memories of the original London production. Loved part one , part two gave me a headache so we will see how this goes.

Such a shame if this is the end for this production.

Might it go to the Coliseum, what with all the connections with ENO.

Great! Is it the Phoenix? No Wow, Lyric or Haymarket?

I had the privilege of seeing this production twice, with about two weeks between visits. I must say, I thought it was gorgeous and I've only waited on saying anything because it honestly left me so gutted.
It wasn't perfect, it needs some tightening, and I don't think the framing device is incorporated as well as it could be (I love it, but it creates more questions than anything). Definitely four stars, but it's so close to absolute brilliance. I just wish they'd connect some dots and work on the emotional core a little. Act II hit hard, but some of the drama was unconvincing because lines where rushed through.
That said, I really can't wait to see this again, if I can. What a production!

I assume it's the Lyric rather than the Haymarket.

It's interesting to note the differences between the ratings on here and the ratings by professional reviewers.
I know that my own five-star assessment was based solely on the merits of the production. For me, it demonstrates how little value you can place on what the press say.

It did charge ahead at 1million miles an hour. The pace was relentless and a few lines and moments were lost in the process. It needs an AD to come in a support TG&LH, TG has said in interviews he gets bored quickly and I can imagine with so much repetition, it will have gotten to the point some of the minute detail will have gotten lost within the familiarity. Honestly, I've said it before, but I believe had the little girl been humming the bean theme/Rapunzels aria motif during that prologue, it really would have added so much depth to the framing. It'll be interesting to see what changes, I assume the end of Act 1, start of Act2 would be restaged slightly so the entire cast don't end up parading through the stalls.
