He literally says he thinks he was only brought in to direct the film version because he could bring along Williams and Thompson.
They already have a west end theatre booked- expect an announcement imminently. I THINK it’s the Phoenix, which would be a nice link to the original London production which played there.

God, I hope so! Had booked this for the OV but the Bath dates don't work for me.

(good argh!) Phoenix would be a nice fit looking at the set in the build time-lapses too. Probably not a coincidence. Just clocked WOOD35 gets you best seats at £35 for the first week of the show 17th - 23rd.

Certainly sounded good from that clip. It really would be lovely to have it at the Pheonix. I can still remember the great design for the marquee outside.

Looks and feels like every other production of ITW in the history of ITW productions - with maybe a few surreal touches that may not add much but were probably hilarious in the rehearsal room. I could of course be proved wrong though

From that clip it doesn't look particularly revolutionary, but think Nicola will be a terrific Witch and I can't wait to see Alex

Personally I don't want anything revolutionary. Having missed the open air and donmar version Into the woods always seems to be scaled back or in a minimalistic version. I'd like to finally see a full production

“First major revival in decades”? Hardly. It gets done all the time. Unless he doesn’t count anything that’s not in London, having forgotten that he isn’t in London either. Yet. They both come across as very smug.

So the Narrator/Mysterious Man ISN'T the Bakers father?
The Donnie Darko rabbit mask is an interesting choice and good for Milky White, being front and center for 'Ever After'
I'm glad that he referenced how amazing the original Richard Jones production was, but based on that video, i'll wait for it to die a death in the West End and get a cheap ticket then.

I have somewhere in my stuff a dreamworks script, that was quite alarming in the restructing and removal of songs and characters. It didn't happen. I've seen many stage productions and rather loved the Yorkshire playhouse version, and truly hated, hated the royal exchange's version.

I still remember, with a great deal of fondness, the excellent Fiasco Theatre production at the Menier back in 2016. I do hope this new production does make it to London.

Will Cinderella go it to the festival? Will Jack sell Milky-white? Will Julian Bleach know his lines? What's waiting on the journey? All to be revealed. Eee.

There’s going to be an interview with Terry Gilliam on the 10 o’clock news, for those interested.

What a fantastic production. Everyone drop what you're doing and visit Bath right now. I've come from Scotland, no excuses please!
I've never seen a proper live production of into the woods before. Ive seen the movie and thought it was awful. But I've been in a Sondheim phase and couldn't resist the phenomenal cast.
Its bigger budget than you think. I'd even say try to avoid everything that you can. What a treat this was!
I hope this comes to the West End as I cannot afford another trip to Bath. Please go see this!

this set :0 That looks very promising Set looks like every other version. Costumes look almost exactly like every other version. Milky White done in almost exactly same way as every other version. Hope Gilliam has brought some new vision to the table.
