Ooh that’s great news, I really enjoyed it at the cinema a few years ago. Another chance to see and hear Jeremy Jordan at his finest!

Jeremy is fantastic in this.
Still hoping we'll get it in London one day. I think it would work really well outdoors at the Regent's Park Open Air theatre.

Thanks for that I'm gonna have a go on YouTube today.
Just looking now but I can only find amateur productions of it and just a trailer for the Jeremy Jordan version. Any advice?

Feeling very organised that I remembered to record it and watched it last night - brilliant. I’d seen the Broadway production, but not with Jeremy Jordan, and as soon as the overture began, I got goosebumps. I got really drawn in and think it was so well done, in terms of the filming. The combination of whole stage shots and close ups really worked and the whole thing came across really well for TV; not always the case when a live show is filmed. I am a huge Alan Menken fan, so love the songs - and the dancing is amazing. US audiences always amuse me when they applaud mid song, at a key change, spectacular dance move or even a set change, but it all added to the atmosphere. And JJ was fantastic; I can see why his TV/film career took off after this. Will definitely keep for watching again!

Just release the damn thing on DVD already! In the US it's on Disney+ so presumably they will do the same thing when it launches here next year

It’s likely the reason why streaming rights aren’t available

Great production values on this filming...not sure how many cameras but they even had them on the scaffolding...Disney always throw money at their ventures.

I couldn’t find it either. Lots of clips and lots of amateur productions, but not the full show, however I did watch it somewhere once. Just can’t remember where. I think it’d be great to see Jac Yarrow do this in the W/E (or anything with a bit of oomph really.) The role of Joseph is a real snooze isn’t it?

Copyright reasons. Same reason most feature films etc don't get on there. Doesn't copyright suck?

Watched the BBC2 showing. Really liked it a lot - proper Broadway dance musical. I also now see why it could never run in the West End. Far too New York specific in every way - it would close in weeks, I'd think. Shame as it is a quality show, but not one that travels well, I fear. I'd happily see a scaled down version like the ArtsEd production I saw, earlier this year. It was incredible 💖 As much as the set is pretty amazing for the Broadway production, you don't need it for the show to work. The material is strong enough for it not to need it x

Watching on BBC2 now. Incredible.
God knows why this never made it to London. Great melodies. Spectacular automated set and lighting. Breathtaking choreography. (I guess all the other recent Broadway imports are cheaper).
One of my favourite Menken scores. And whilst I don't doubt it's a somewhat sanitised version of what was no doubt quite a grim fight, think it has more substance and less sentiment than Menken's usual saccharine sweet fare.
And who wouldn't fancy Jeremy Jordan....
