I didn't get my priority email until about 3.30 either. However, I didn't book then - held off until today. I now seem to be going on the Saturday afternoon, knowing nothing whatsoever about the show! The score is gorgeous! So much great stuff in there. Lily's Eyes is the standout for me.

Big cast announcement coming on Tuesday. I wonder who it'll be...

The guys producing this tend to use the same people for everything, so Celinde Schoenmaker might make an appearance 🤷🏻♂️

I'm expecting Lauren Samuels & Emily Carey if my rumour is correct 😊
Could be the children they were casting?

Ben Forster? But Ramin is already here so maybe someone else. Maybe Luke Bayer?

They haven't announced anyone to play Neville Craven yet, so i'm guessing it's that. With Jac Yarrow presumably playing Dickon, there's not role for Luke Bayer in this production.
Because it's a concert, i would love to see Jane MacDonald play Martha. I genuinely think she would be fantastic.

I absolutely *loved* Dr Zhivago so that fact that this is the same composer and stars Ramin is a huge draw. I know it's a one off but to pay nearly £45 to sit in the back 3 or 4 rows of the (enormous) Palladium seems pretty steep, but I'm starting to think I'm just cheap as this seems to be the going rate and I sound like a broken record! I think I'll have to bite the bullet as I can't see there being many discounts for this one and I really don't want to miss out.

I'd keep holding out for offers - they're doing 2 performances and the Palladium is huge so shifting 4500 tickets at full price is probably unlikely. I've got it favourited on TodayTix in case any discounts do appear.

I mean thisll be good, but this company literally cast the same people in everything. Is it not getting a bit boring now?

There's good offers for this in the TodayTix theatre week sale. Just picked up a ticket for £15 in the Royal Circle, and they also have decent stalls seats for £25.

Disappointing as always. I was holding out hope that this may still go ahead (as Songs For A New World is seemingly able to) but not meant to be. Hopefully it'll be another thing to add to the 2021 diary 🤞

I had thought this was Wonderland in Concert at first but The Secret Garden is more likely seeing as it was planned in the past. Lambert Jackson Productions commented on the Instagram post as well and it was them who were originally producing I believe. Hope Jac Yarrow and Lucie Jones are still attached to this if they can fit it around their shows, obviously Ramin will have to be replaced now.

I saw the West Yorkshire Playhouse production many, many years ago. One of the few productions I've walked out of (leaving two companions behind) long before the interval. I wasn't in the right mood for it, but in fairness I loathed everything about the musical when I listened to it later. The snapping point came when a man did a five minute song about how much he likes cabbages and I could feel my blood pressure rising with each passing second. I'm sure it's not the worst show ever written but it has a special place in my heart as one of my absolute least favourites.

More to the point - Hadley Fraser and Emma Williams!! This has moved up my list of things to book for... I vaguely recall that the changes made in the RSC production were deemed not to be successful by the authors and haven't appeared anywhere else since, so am expecting the Broadway / licensed version of the score

It’s Lanbert Jackson productions - there’ll probably be another narrator whizzing through the story for us so don’t worry about what book they’ll use. It’s a promising cast but I don’t know if this is something I’ll be willing to pay too whack for.

What a strange lineup - apart from Emma and Hadley, none of these people feel like they fit together in the same show...

There was a production at the Festival Theatre in Edinburgh over Christmas 2010 with Graham Bickley and Caspar Phillipson. I'm fed up of these concerts, just put the bloody full show on. Concerts might have been great when we were struggling yo put on shows because of covid but we are back into the swing now so I just find all these concert announcements annoying now.

They are a good way of hearing shows that are not likely to get full productions
But with pieces like Chess and Kinky Boots, it is hard to see any creative reasons for revisiting them at this time

Pre-sale now on. Good seats via Ticketmaster priced £70.75 - £95.50, around £60 further back. Can see almost any fully staged West End musical for much less than that. Slightly cheaper through LW Theatres.
After feeling short-changed by the Camelot concert I'm going to pass on this one for now. Just wish they'd stayed at Cadogan Hall for these concert shows.

Agreed, after Camelot I'm going to give it a miss. Books matter in musicals and I want to hear the dialogue, even if the actor has a script to hand.
