The best way to move on from this and support Curve is by buying a ticket to watch The Color Purple stream, featuring a full cast who are committed to playing their parts correctly and spreading a positive message. It is also, btw, outstanding. I watched it last night. I urge everyone to watch and support this show and theatre. Yes I would like to. If I pay, can I watch it from Spain? Sunset Boulevard at Curve was available worldwide besides America so hopefully this should be the same, I guess it will say on their website.

The fact that you can't see that the only person who destroyed her life is her is beyond me. Whether or not you think it was right for the Facebook post to be re-published or not, she could have dealt with it maturely and responsibly by apologising, or even by not apologising, taking the full payment the Curve offered her and walking away. Instead she chose to drag this through the mud and bring a claim that was doomed to fail. She has no-one but herself to blame for that. You don't think her Father had anything to do with it? She's a grown woman with a brain and clearly a certain amount of life experiences, at the very least by osmosis given the world she has worked in. Of course her upbringing plays a role in her thinking but at the end of the day we are all responsible for our own lives and destinies. She could have issued an apology or taken the pay off if she had wanted to, no-one could have forced her not to. And in any event you were trying to excuse her by blaming the person who highlighted her abhorrent post. I merely pointed out that you were side-stepping the nub of the issue. You seem so determined to exonerate her of any blame that you are ignoring the simple choices she chose to make and trying to blame anyone but her. Life doesn't work like that.

There is no witch hunt This person made those statements. And has not changed their mind or shown any willingness to grow. Anyone is entitled to hold those opinions but those opinions once openly expressed are not worthy of protection under employment law. A way out with full pay was offered and declined. Legal action was started and someone without legal training was appointed their representative in the tribunal. This person made claims that have been completely rejected. They are the architect of their own misfortunes and must now reap what they have sown. They have made themselves unemployable in the career for which they trained. That is all down to their own actions. *APPLAUDS* Like others have echoed previously, she is a grown ADULT. She has chosen to be bigoted. On her head be it. She deserves nothing and I am happy that justice has been served. I hope this never happens again because it's just a waste of everyone's time; especially in the current climate. I commend the Curve for still holding their heads up high and having integrity. I am over the moon for them and in my mind, this was the ONLY POSSIBLE OUTCOME. (ALTHOUGH like the US elections I was terrified it wouldn't go the right way)

If a gay actor who had been hounded and abused by Christians his whole life and hates them with every fibre of his being was offered a role playing a gay hating Christian, should he be allowed to play the role if he chose to?

Wow some people must love the devil a whole lot to be advocating for him this hard. Something which Seyi Omooba would also refuse to play on stage.

Imagine if we changed every single aspect of the situation, would that require a different approach? Riddle me that liberals!

Good. Let's hope it bankrupts the corrupt organisation that her father runs.

I quite like the idea of lots of bigots putting their hands in their pockets to pay for this.

.... AND she didn't HAVE to take it this far. She has not shown any remorse. Don't ever want to see her onstage again. She did this, no one else.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer person.
She’s unemployable in theatre now.

She's now theatre poison.

She will make a career as a professional victim seeing conspiracy everywhere. And she can sing in her father's church.
And we can ignore everything about her.

That line in Mamma Mia 2 from the Greek mother figure - "It's called karma; and it's pronounced 'Ha!'"

I really hope Christian Concern live up to their name and cover the costs for Omooba. She is clearly an extremely foolish girl who will be living with the consequences of her actions for years to come, but I still don’t believe she deserves to have her entire life destroyed because of this.

I can't see how her career can survive. She's now theatre poison. I just read through the employment tribunals findings posted above, and it makes clear reference to the fact that she can't even get an agent let alone book a job. Sometimes when I see the gleeful posts I feel a bit bad for her, having her entire life torn asunder by beliefs she was brought up in, but reading through the whole case just made me feel that there were several points she could have turned back, and this outcome is mostly of her own creation. The other enjoyable factoid was that basically everyone involved in the case apart from her is gay.

The other enjoyable factoid was that basically everyone involved in the case apart from her is gay. Again, I don't feel sorry for her at all. She brought this on herself and has not shown a ounce of remorse. She easily could have apologised. I'd have a little more respect for her. She didn't, she's had this whole 'woe is me,' attitude - she's a grown ar*se human and should know right from wrong no matter how she was brought up. It's an insult that she even pursued theatre in the first place. Will Christian Concern cover the costs? Considering her father is involved....Um, I'd assume so.

One thing I thought was interesting is that she wasn't represented by a barrister at the hearing, she had a lay representative while the theatre had paid for a QC.
I wonder why Christian Concern didn't choose to pay for legal representation for her, this would have been a landmark case for them with the publicity, you'd think they'd throw more up against it.
From something I read, she mentioned talking to CC lawyers so they must have had someone.
That makes me think they won't pay out the £300k, unless it's just that their lawyers aren't suitably qualified as lawyers so that's who the lay representative was!
