If someone can find the previous spoiler thread please bump this onto that.
Anyway Dance off was David against James and David was saved.

I would have sent them both home. Both were woefully bad.
Too many mediocre people at the moment.
Did enjoy Chris, Michelle and Karim tonight

David and Anneka in the dance off and David was saved.
No doubt Kevin might be wondering why he didn't leave as Champion.

No doubt Kevin might be wondering why he didn't leave as Champion. He still gets a paycheque between now and Christmas for doing not very much! Although I suspect he'll be on ITT at every opportunity, as well as the Children in Need and Christmas Specials.

Well the results show is going to be interesting...but the judges seemed to be working to some strange criteria,so it's not surprising that the end result is odd. I think Dev and Dianne weren't memorable this week so probably got forgotten by voters.

Not really a shock based on the show tonight - Dev wasn't good, and many people may justifiably have thought Alex and Will were a bit hard done by with the judges (who were completely on another planet most of the show).
Dev wasn't as good as he was hyped up to be last week, so that just made his effort tonight seem even worse.

They were fairly low down the leaderboard but I would have thought Dev might have picked up more votes given he is a Radio 1 DJ plus Dianne being with Joe Sugg romantically then he might have championed them.

YouTube views clearly not converting into votes. I am surprised because I really thought the Joe Sugg fans would manage to get them to the final

Right dance-off, wrong result. Mike is beyond dreadful.

3 times in the dance off - it was inevitable.

Will this result be seen as a shock?

That is a pathetic result. Catherine hasn't reached her potential and I have serious doubts about Johannes as a teacher because of that, but she was miles better than Mike overall!
Chris avoiding the dance off is perplexing though, he really isn't good at all

Until we see the dance off, it is hard to know why the judges did what they did. If Catherine made as many errors as she did first time round, it would be hard to justify keeping her if Mike was error free.
Mike shouldn't be there - but the public like someone who is clearly trying. Which could well be the reason Chris has avoided the dance off so far.

Looks like the Bookies knew something as Catherine was in the mix to go but it is still a surprise. Had to make sure I didn't post on the main Strictly thread.

I haven’t seen dance off of course but don’t forget people do get to see the rehearsals so bookies might have people checking. But I often wonder if the camera work makes us ‘see’ a different performance to the one the judges see. We don’t get close up on feet or on mess ups. And we can’t ‘get’ the energy very well - a bit like we can’t taste the cake in bake off.

I love Johannes as a dancer, but he does tend to really go for it at all times. I've often thought he should tone it down a little as the contrast between him and his partner is highlighted. Catherine's footwork was very shaky this week; maybe he should have tried to match her more, rather than letting her obviously not match him. I don't mean dance badly, just not quite so "wide" etc. But he was enjoying that Steps track SO much, LOL!

Obv haven’t seen the dance off but if this is the result, then it is a joke now. Something going on. Don’t want to be nasty but mike doesn’t actually dance. He does a show, no doubt he is a trooper but the ones off before him actually did do proper dances. I wish the judges had to give proper reasoning. What they say is usually faff.

Mike & Katya vs Emma & Aljaz - Emma & Aljaz out Another disappointing result. Oh no. This the point my wife is going to bale out. She can’t stand that Mike is still in. Refuses to watch his dances. Nothing against him personally. Just a rubbish dancer.

After last week’s furore I imagine the producers wanted to somehow justify Mike being retained over Catherine by bigging up his performance this week. I thought it was a mess personally but what do I know? Maybe he smashed it in the dance off.

Given Mike scored higher in the first place it's hardly a surprise he would beat Emma in the dance off. It's not like he's knocked out any potential winners at this point.

Excellent point - the pro has to be in time but if the celeb cannot keep up he could have gone down a gear to find a matching pace. But Johannes is fairly full on so maybe for uptempo numbers he does just like to go for it and be as showy as he can.
