I nearly voted Green in 1989 Euro Elections when they polled 15% and David Icke was in the party. I'll do my recycling bit and if I was the protesters age then I might be more into it. But with all the homeless on the streets and Brexit to sort out there are bigger fish to currently fry.
Can anyone remember when Sting was going through his rainforest phase and he had a tribal chief who had like a wooden discus in his mouth and a blanket over his shoulders trailing around with him.
The people who preach global warming but take private jets really get my goat as being hypocrites too.
But I'd say if the younger demographic are really into this issue then the two main parties need to embrace it to try and capture their votes.

However it's hard to get annoyed with protesters. These issues are serious and some inconvenience is not unreasonable. I disagree. It's very easy and justified to get annoyed with them when they do moronic things like gluing themselves to trains. When they stop me from getting home and I can't avoid them they differentiate themselves from sporting events and the like which are planned and disruption advertised well in advance so you can plan ahead. These idiots lost any goodwill they would have got from me when they started pulling those kind of silly stunts.

The trouble is that normal people won't 'put up with' disruption without being completely turned off the people and supposed 'message' that caused it. If it takes me three hours to get to work instead of one, I don't give a damn what the people who caused that disruption have to say. Especially if they're kids with zero clue about earning a living. Protest, go on TV if anyone will let you, get published in as many places as possible - but when people are trying to go somewhere, get out of the way. It does nobody any favours. Do you know ANYONE that took 3 hours to get to work this morning rather than their normal 1? Or someone not getting to a job interview? or ambulances not getting through? or is this all mild hysterics? After the last few protests in Bristol, where roads leading to three hospitals were blocked (including the children's hospital), there were various complaints from emergency personnel that emergency vehicles had been hindered getting to their destination. The crowd did not part to let them through as they had promised. Imagine you're a parent just nipping home to get showered and changed, and you can't get back to your ill child, because of a protest. During the last one a person missed out on saying goodbye to a dieing parent, because they couldn't get through. People travelling to or from their jobs by bus were also stuck for long periods, and not getting paid the usual because they couldn't get to work in time. That's not a small inconvenience to someone's day.

I could find that the protest didn’t start until 10.45am there so as to be less disruption to people going to work

I can see people getting angry with protesters and things turning physical if these allegations are true. Wait until Greta's head starts spinning and she gets the demonic voice on Halloween.

Not another man, so scared of a sixteen year old with opinions that they reveal their true self? The attempt to paint her as demonic is disgusting. Have you no shame?

My true self is here but will we see Greta's soon "What a wonderful day for an exorcism! "

And funnily enough illness, accidents, fires and other emergencies do not limit themselves to be outside protest-times. The blocked emergency vehicles were in posts on social media from the emergency workers, including Bristol Live. I will have a look later if I can find the links. Funny how you do not mention the person who could not get to their parent in time - widely covered in local and national press.

It's like those constant protesters/supporters of both sides in the Brexit debate outside Parliament. Do we really need to see EU or Union Jacks being waived when we are watching a news report.
Also isn't obstructing an Emergency Vehicle a crime, couldn't the police use that law to move the protesters on. We hear about how football fans are kept back and have their civil liberties broken by the police on numerous occasions. I'm not talking about yob fans but families and groups of fans who just want to go and watch their team play.

Is it because on the whole ambulances ARNT being blocked? I agree that if they were then this would be a great way for breaking up the protests. Likelyhood is that the emergency services are well aware of the route of the protest and get the drivers to drive elsewhere, just like during pride marches, just like during roadworks.

IF it happened. I’ve been looking up death notices in Bristol and doesn’t appear (from the information I have found) that any male died in a Bristol hospital that day. Could someone have just called up and claimed that? They then asked for the interview to be removed. No follow up from any press other than to regard it as fact.

Anyone could have called up and said anything! Would it not have been bigger news if true??

While I agree that XR are absolute eejits, have done themselves absolutely no favours today and I can't agree with many of their policies, I can't accept that it's acceptable to beat up a stranger just because you're going to be late for work. But hey, I'm just a woolly Islington liberal.

Huge congratulations to the Cockneys who played football with the Extension Rebellion twats. I doubt very much it was "cockneys". I live in east London and travel around that time. Trains and buses are full of mainly eastern Europeans who work on building sites or manual work. They are on low wages and if they dont get to work they dont get paid so would have been angry with the delays. Saying that no excuse for attacking people but, let's just say, not the politest people in the world and I'm speaking from daily experience of commuting early in the morning.
