with Mark Gatiss and Ian Hallard Park Theatre, Sep28-Oct30
Last saw this at the Kings Head umpteen years ago. Not a fan of the play but like the Park and loved Ian Hallard's Electric Bear - and will be interesting to see him play against his husband....

What is what that awful artwork though? Hmm...let's stage a gay play, let's put one of the Village People on the poster.
Good casting mind, but surprised they're doing this.

Their twitter just said in the next few days. So I'd guess Monday.
Artwork is awful though...

It was a sensational play at the time. The first play to depict real gay men on stage. Just jaw dropping! It contains the classic line " So... who do you have to f*** to get a drink round here?" But now, even played in period, it is stragely dated and a museum piece and I don't really see the need for a revival.

I think it's an interesting piece to revive for those reasons- as a historical piece and a marker of how things are/aren't different in both the 'real world' and drama. As you say it's the first play to really depict real gay men in an extensive/meaningful way, and that's worth revisiting.

If I remember correctly there's a stripper dressed as a cowboy in the play. It's still an awful poster, but at least there's some relevance!

Booking opens for Friends today, the rest of us have to wait until 3 May. The web-site let me buy tickets. I have been there once before, maybe previous patrons are considered "Friends". It's worth a shot is you have been.

You are far prettier than me as well, FRD! I know who I would want in my audience

Definitely a mistake as they are still tweeting to not miss out when booking opens 3 May...

Managed to book this the day public booking opened though trying to use their teeny tiny seating map on my phone was a challenge...I've booked front row I don't know whether I will regret this!

James Holmes (Miranda) has joined this. I noticed they were at Pride a few weeks ago - lots of hot boys with their shirts off….they really know who they're appealing to!
I don't know the play but it's a great cast for the Park!

Not booked yet but will definitely be going. Recently went to the smaller space in Park Theatre, but not visited the space this will be in yet. The theatre is rather nice, quaint cafe/bar feel to the foyer.
Nice to see two relatively famous plays with LGBT themes revived within 6 months of each other (with Angels at the National). Always wanted to see them so very excited!

Oh by jiminy yes, I've booked! There's a few hotties in it and I'm hoping for a touch of nudity too. Or a touch AND nudity. Either or. Happy either way.
The Park Theatre is quite nice. Have seen a few things there, most recently 'The Trial of Jane Fonda'. There's a touch of the Donmar Warehouse about it.
