Isn't this cast change a bit early? I thought it was August or September last year?
I will miss Matt. I was sceptical when he was cast having seen him on The Voice but I was proven so wrong. He is simply great in the role. I also really like Elena.

Has anyone seen Simon in the role already? I have a couple of times now. Simon is a great actor but really struggles with the singing. There were points during the big numbers where it was well... very bad. Will be interesting to see how he improves. Matt is a hard act to follow.

Has anyone seen Simon in the role already? I have seen him in April and was very impressed! He was amazing both singing and acting as both Lola and Simon. And he looks absolutely gorgeous in drag

I watched Simon's first show. He is a natural and gifted actor. Dare I say it acts it better than Matt ( in my opiion... calm down). His voice was nice and will only improve when he gets 4 weeks to make it his own in rehearsals.
Always great when an understudy gets recognized.

Glad to see it extend again a few names in there I recognise. Jordan Fox who covered Angels and the factory ensemble in the original cast is back this time as Harry and 1st cover Charlie. Interestingly there's one less black male so either there will only be 2 Lola covers this time round or London will get its 1st white Lola (Australia currently has one) I saw Ben Jennings as Frankie Valli last year so it will be interesting seeing him as an angel, couldn't be more different!

I know the Lauren casting isn't the big news, but I LOVE Verity Rushworth. (this is where once again I have to confess my dark secret of watching Emmerdale isn't it?). Also glad she's getting another crack at a bigger stage role as she had to pull out of Breakfast at Tiffanys whne she got pregnant.
Also I remember her tweeting Killian waaaay back early in the run saying how much she loved the show, so obviously she decided she really really liked it!

Isn't it crazt to think, if this runs until its current booking date of March 24, 2018 (which I suspect it will, and possibly further (hopefully further!), it will be the longest running show at that theatre (2 1/2 years) since Chicago, which closed in 2006!

I think The Bodyguard would've lasted longer if the owners of Adelphi didn't kick it out for Made in Dagenham. Maybe not as long as 2 1/2 years but I think it would've lasted until end of 2014 atleast.

I presume they just realised that after two years they didnt need an extra understudy Lola. However, I guess it's fairly weird as that's also another less Simon Snr understudy. I dont know why but I just can't see Lola being White. I think they should keep her Black, it's also extra diversity amongst the cast. Think Verity is good casting, she was very funny in Hairspray.

If anything, this year would have told them that they NEED the third cover Lola, Jemal has been utilised several times compared to last year when Marcus didn't get on once. I wouldn't mind a white Lola, some of the lines would need changed though. A few lines in Land of Lola even though most first viewers probably wouldn't even notice the lines. Simon Senior can be done with a white swing, they face the wheelchair to the back so it isn't as obvious.

Ramin Karimloo saw Kinky Boots on Broadway and said Lola was now 'on the list'. In theory theres no reason why Lola couldnt be white and you can easily equal up the diversity by casting a black Charlie.

I think a black Lauren would work really well if they found someone with good comedic timing. I dont know why but I've always pictured Lola as black?

Probably it's because it's referred to in the lyrics? Where as you could easily have a black Lauren.

I think a black Lauren would work so well hence why I hope Alexandra Burke was going to take over as she has the voice and comedy ability to take on the role (needed for Lauren). I do hope we get to see a black Lauren before it closes
