I don't think he ever left. All the Lola understudies left though.

Matt has never left, he's been there from the start until now although all the 3 Lola understudies changed at cast change in August last year

I haven't seen any discounts at the minute for the show other than the occasional midweek one or 30% TKT's one which a lot of shows do, but looking at the website, there is most limited tickets or sold out shows for the next three weeks, and some limited ticket shows dotted around throughout the Summer too. It's great to see the show still doing well this far along in the run, makes me really happy to see the Adelphi Theatre have a long runner, with Group bookings through January 2018, and if it continues selling how it does, I could easily see it continuing well into 2018 and hopefully beyond. EDIT: Ah yeah, I thought it was strange three random weeks in August were so limited, but there are more seats on the RUG website! Still alright for a long runner though!

I saw this at the end of last month for the first time and loved it, I thought it was great. I got the last day seat on the end of the front row and had an excellent view - the angels make great drag queens! I'd seen the film a while ago, as I was intrigued by this and knew very little about it. I quite liked the film and thought it was ok, but much prefer the stage show. The songs are great, still have a couple going round in my head, which to me is a sign of a great musical. It was very energetic and feel-good, a nice happy show. I thought I'm Not My Father's Son was very touching and almost brought a tear to my eye. It's nice having a show set in the UK. I thought it ended very suddenly though, I expected a few more lines to finish it off such as people telling Charlie they want to buy his boots and him announcing they've saved the factory. I'd like to go again at some point.

Jerry Mitchell was at the show on Saturday. I'm assuming he's in town for cast change?
Any news on who's leaving this year?

They do the auditions so early for this, the new cast don't start until August! It must be the only time Jerry can get over to 'oversee' things.

Jerry Mitchell seems to like to use cast members from his previous shows again so I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Gemma Sutton or Carley Stenson came in to play Lauren? Doubt Matt Henry would want to do a 3rd year?!

Anyone at the show yesterday? Looks like David must of got ill or injured mid show so Paul had to take over as Charlie mid-performance. Must of been a tad confusing for the audience members to see Paul play Harry during the Pub scene at the start of the show, then change to Charlie later on!
On the topic of auditions, glad to hear that by the sounds of it it won't be closing anytime soon if they are auditioning new people with the intention of giving them a year contract! I'd love to see Gemma Sutton play Lauren, and I would love Matt to stay but he would of been there for a while.

I'd like to see Gemma as Lauren too (she's worked with Jerry before) but I think carley would be better personally. Would like matt to stay too but I presume he'll want to do more opportunities

But have they reconceived this show, or is it a bigger, shinier version of the original Broadway production. One of the best productions I have seen of this was up in Manchester not so long ago, with little set, and with the band on stage, but masses of invention and theatricality, and energy, and glorious dancing.

So are Adam and Phil going to share the track or is Adam now a swing? Does anyone know why he left?

Jemal Felix is on as Lola this evening (3rd cover) for anyone who can make it down, although it may be sold out since it's a Saturday, always worth a try. He is playing opposite Paul Ayres as Charlie, the smallest male in the cast with the tallest! I would love to see them on together.

Just on way back from tonight's show have not seen it for about a year and loved it all over again Matt is better than ever and loved David as Charlie really suits the character felt he acted more and delivered on the money notes too House full sign up tonight and apart from one idiot thinking he was at a panto ! An amazing receptive giving audience my 4th time seeing the show and never heard a reception like it the cast were taken aback ... extended applause throughout but esp after hold me in your arms what a fab night ! And lucky to get lottery tickets at last min too

There is no point making a Kinky Boots Broadway thread as this is literally just a singular comment I am gonna make, but it is amazing to see that 4 years on Broadway, and almost 1700 shows performed, it is still pulling in an average of $700,000-$800,000 on a weekly basis, and almost hit the $1 million mark this past week! It is actually really impressive, and I think further than alot of people expected it to go, especially considering it opened with around a week between itself and Matilda and that closed at the beginning of the year! Unless something dramatic happens, it could well manage a few more years on Broadway! And with it appearing to do well still on the West End, with it coming on two years in August and an extension announcement through the winter in due course, it is very exciting to see this show do so well on the global scale it has.

Couldn't agree more! I think this show has a long life left in London I was at a Wednesday matinee the other week and it was virtually sold out. The audience was absolutely insane I couldn't believe it!

Just back from seeing the show tonight...it was basically sold out and the audience was one of the best I have ever seen at the show. It looked like the cast were having an absolute ball on stage.

Aww I will miss Matt Henry alot! Same 😕 he is amazing! But I managed to see Simon a few months ago and he is by far the best out of all the covers at the moment! At least that resolved the discussion about Alexandra being Lauren lol
