Anyone else there yesterday afternoon?
Enjoyable, but a bit of a mixed bag in my opinion. Interested to hear thoughts of others..

I was there, and was actually thinking about making a thread but didn’t get round to it.
I am incredibly biased, having been a fan of Jamie’s for his entire professional career and so for me it was a lovely trip down memory lane with some other extra treats thrown in.
He was very nervous, one of the main reasons he hadn’t done a concert before now is he hates the talking part and he made no secret of that!

As this was his first ever solo gig I think this was a lovely mix of showcasing some of his previous work and things that he enjoyed singing. He is a very modest unassuming young man and having his friends around him in the second half obviously helped him feel more comfortable albeit making the concert more informal. Given more of a band in a future gig may enable him to display more of the range of styles of music he can lend his superb voice to.

Jamie Muscato and The Other Palace. Not two names that usually go together.
Oh wait.

Would be interested to know what he sang... Act One: 1. Disney Medley - Under the Sea/The Bare Necessities/Cruella de Vil 2. Spring Awakening Medley - Totally F***ed/Don’t Do Sadness/Touch Me 3. Baby I Don’t Know Oh Oh - by the band Vulfpeck 4. On My Own, straight into 5. Life On Mars? 6. How About Tomorrow (Stay Awake Jake) which was supposed to go straight into 7. Maria (unfortunately that transition did not go to plan) 8. Daffodils (Big Fish) 9. Come Back (Dogfight) 10. Freeze Your Brain Act Two: 1. Lover You Should’ve Come Over (Jeff Buckley) 2. Dance Wiv Me (Dizzee Rascal) with Richard Southgate (they first did this 10 years ago at an event at the Lyric Hammersmith) 3. Hatson with Richard and Simon Lipkin (A song they wrote a few years ago, it’s actually Jamie’s pinned tweet on his Twitter profile) Not an actual number but we sang Happy Birthday to his mum, with a cake brought on stage by Carrie Hope Fletcher, who stayed on stage for... 4. Seventeen 5. Blackbird 6. First Date/Last Night (Dogfight) with Laura Jane Matthewson 7. Four Chord Song with many guests, this is another one that is on YouTube from a few years back 8. Waving Through A Window That was supposed to be the end but he was cajoled into singing Meant To Be Yours. Shout out to the incredibly talented Jo Cichonska who had never played it before and did a fantastic job sight-reading.

Jo is a cracking MD. Worked with her before and she was great.
