Oh disagree entirely, having seen both. I couldn't take to Michael's prince at all, though I do agree he looked a better fit with Carrie. Very bland. Ivano works better visually with Lauren or Georgina to me. I didn't get camp from him, just because he's prettier than the usual types and not the 'manly' type whatever that is. But also that's kind of the point of the character isn't it? That he doesn't live up to his manly brother.
Moving on, I'm wondering if ALW will be putting out a statement or another interview commenting on all the furore over this? Or has he and I've missed it? I see Today Tix have sent out cheap ticket offers for anyone wanting to go before it closes.

Steering away the conversation from sexuality stereotyping here…
Does anyone know if Carrie is scheduled to do her usual show tonight? Not for me, but my friend is thinking of booking a ticket, but have heard a rumour on SM that Carrie is sick, and in their words “I only want to see it if Tom from McFlys sister is on”.
Anyone in the know?

I'm not in the know but it is her scheduled show. I think she was on for yesterday's matinee as scheduled but also has posted the odd thing about post covid voice troubles, so no guarantees obviously...

Tuesday and Wednesday evenings are her scheduled nights off. She was in for the matinee yesterday, if that helps.

Thanks guys!
I know it’s her scheduled show, but they had heard on SM that she might be off sick, and as I mentioned before she sounded very hoarse when I seen her at the weekend so it’s definitely possible she may be having voice problems as a result of covid.
I’ve told my friend that Georgina is great regardless so just to book, it’s up to them!

PTSD? TRAUMA? not being dismissive (well I am because people who have come out the other side of WAR or serious assault or sexual abuse or any type of really serious stuff often end up with those syndromes) But if it was really THAT bad that one of them has PTSD then their agents need sacking as that is what they are there for to act as a go between to negotiate contacts and to mediate on issues. If he’s being dramatic then he needs to choose his words a little more carefully next time otherwise how can he ever hope to be taken seriously. There is a growing mindset that anything can be construed as an act of violence. I saw a local student complaining that she didn't get cast in a tiny production of Tick Tick Boom and calling it an act of violence. It really does diminish the suffering experienced by those who have to deal with real not imagined violence. Losing a job is never good. But it doesn't make you a victim. There is an excellent book by Lucy Foulkes on this called Losing Our Minds: What Mental Illness Really Is – and What It Isn’t. Part of it is about how in everyday life we appropriate mental health specific vocabulary (from "depressed" to "gaslighting") much to the disadvantage of people who are actually struggling with mental ilnness

I work pretty close to the Gillian Lynne and just had a bit of a bizarre moment where I walked past Carrie sitting on the pavement across the road on my way home, so looks like she is on tonight for anyone interested.
She was just sitting with a guy on her phone, on the ground, I had to take a second look before I realised it was her.
(I didn’t approach her as I thought it would be a bit rude)

I'm surprised that this hasn't gotten back to here yet, but I just got off the phone to my friend who went tonight, and they've told me that tonight's performance was a shambles due to technical problems...I'll summarise what they said -
Buns and runs started fine and everything was going to plan, but apparently when Carrie first arrived on stage the statue wouldn't move, so when it got to the part where she says 'Did somebody say my name?' there was total silence and the cast didn't know what to do, then the stage manager came onstage and shouted 'Everybody off!' and the curtain came down.
An announcement followed saying there were technical problems, sorry for the delay etc. Apparently they were waiting for the show restart for about 10-15 minutes before an announcement was made saying it could re-commence. However, apparently the cast started back on the last verse of 'It has to be her', but when Carrie's statue came forward the MD had accidentally cued the wrong part of the song, so instead of it finishing when she is supposed to speak, the music kept playing and Carrie jumped off the statue and just stood on the stage with a confused look on her face for about 10 seconds - Apparently it was very awkward which I can imagine! The curtain then fell again and a 'further delay' announcement was made.
Apparently then another 10 minutes went by with the audience in total confusion and some leaving, before the company manager came on stage and made an apology saying they were now ready to start. The show started then and went without a hitch, but finished about half an hour late.
My friend added that Carrie 'butchered' Bad Cinderella when things finally got back on and totally missed the last note, but I can't stress enough that those are their words as I definitely think she deserves a pass on this occasion - I can't even imagine how nervous she must've felt! They also added that when she got it together she sounded great though and the entire cast really pulled through.
I feel really bad for Carrie and the rest of the cast as this kind of thing is totally out of their hands, but it's just another thread in the absolute chaos of this show I suppose!

Sam Robinson posted about a show stop last week (maybe the week before) where just as they’d started the “hunks in the gym” bit his sword got stuck in the stage and none of them could pull it out again, which actually sounds pretty funny.

Did whoever pull the sword out of the stage automatically become king?
What a Carrie on this show is!

Wow, that must have been awful to happen on stage. I would have rather they had just stopped for 30min and fixed it all.

Will there be any sort of 'protest' on the last show on the 12th June?

I’m booked in next Thursday, will be my fourth time.
It’s not by any means perfect but it was light & fun with a great score & will miss its bizarre camp!!

So it’s gone awfully quiet over at Cinders HQ Has all the outrage fizzled? After the demonstration which saw 15 people turn up is there another planned when it would actually have some impact? sat matinee for instance? Anyone got any inside knowledge?

No insider knowledge but I do see frequent shader (is that a term? it is now) Rodney Vubya, the cover Charming, was being fairly snippy about the show on Instagram just a day or two ago. Which I think is a shame for people reading who have just been to see the show, and hardly going to help shift those last tickets, but I'm guessing many just don't care now.
Not that I think the outrage should fizzle if people are still angry but I just think it'd be nice for the cast just to be able to get on with delivering their last shows with less drama.

Booked for a couple of weeks.
Somewhat irritated - tickets are significantly cheaper on Carrie's off day. I'm not a huge Carrie fan, so booked one of these days. The reason it annoys me, however, is that these actors complain when people are annoyed when they don't see the actor they've booked to see because they've "booked to see a show", not a person. Which I usually agree with in principle. However, with Cinderella, people *are* paying a premium to see Carrie. People literally are paying extra just to see that actor, therefore, people *do* have the right to be pissed when Carrie isn't there

My mum was sent an offer which I have used to take my nieces to see the show in half term. Was thinking of taking them for their birthday later in the year but don't have the time now and £15 a ticket is a bargain! It does mean I'm going 3 times before closure, maybe the theatre gods will give me a different actress as Cinderella each night (and any other covers really, love seeing them all smash it!!!)

Maybe something to do with Carrie injuring herself (on her insta stories)?

The backstage shenanigans are far more entertaining than the show itself.
