I’m actually reading this while standing in front of the Imperial theater, wondering when the Broadway transfer was going to be announced. From everything I am hearing here, it is going to transfer and this theater is on hold for it. ALW said "see you in March"

This mystery “workshop” that’s happening at exactly the same time as Heathers is closed for filming…. I wonder is she workshopping Lady Macbeth in Lady M? I believe they are currently working on the show and Kerry Ellis was involved originally but is now busy with Anything Goes.

So I’m guessing that theater will be renovated back and “Aspects” will go there, if that’s the ALW revival being teased.

Sad to hear of it closing, I'm booked to see it again in the 4th June so luckily will get to see it before it closes.

I think some of you skimmed that article a bit too quickly. He’s not saying there’s “no guarantee” of a Broadway run, he’s saying he’s producing it with a company called No Guarantees. www.playbill.com/person/no-guarantees

I was hoping to catch this again as I actually enjoyed it, but there's no way I can get down there before June

Although this was inevitable I’m also a bit sad to see it actually close.
Despite the fact I know it’s really not the best show in the world, something keeps drawing me back to Belleville. Too many times, I think.
Will definitely catch it once or twice more in the next 6 weeks, though.

I am a massive Webber fan, but this is his worst musical. I did enjoy the use of the revolve though.
The non-Olivier winning (nominated once though) that the critics tried to tell us how great it was.

Also very sad, not surprised exactly as unsettled run is the right term for it, but thought it had a little longer left in it. I'd hoped it would make it to a new cast at least. I assume this is why Carrie deleted her tweet about her leaving date, as she knew it was likely to close sooner?

Quite interesting to read that the show applied for the CRF but got rejected, not sure it would have meant the show would have run longer but I know Nica Burns got money to reopen Everybody's Talking About Jami.
I wonder if Bedknobs and Broomsticks might end up playing at the Gillian Lynne for a limited season?

I wonder if this revelation had anything to do with CHF being off her game and VHB just being off completely last night. Seems like it could be upsetting news if sprung on them.

So it's a "new production" with new producers in New York. Hopefully some new songs and a completely different script too. If it ever gets that far...

The new cast were apparently preparing for rehearsals. Does anyone know who was cast?

Yeah the word on Twitter right now seems to be that the new cast weren’t told about this and found out through these reports this evening.

I haven't been able to discuss this until now, as it came from a source I couldn't risk exposing, but this very nearly didn't reopen after it was closed for reworks. It was touch and go, and sales have been consistently poor. It is a surprisingly expensive show to operate and almost every ticket has been sold at a discount for months now (with thousands of comps going out to inner city schools, key workers and such).
That closing date could wobble too, with reports of 800 seats filled, approx. 40% paid, with average discount of 60-70% per ticket.
In short, see this while you can if you're a fan or are curious - don't wait until the last minute.

Appalling if true.

John Whaite was going to be Prince Charming. He's posted he is heartbroken.
What a way for the cast to find out.
Theatre... do better!

Half an hour is quite short, normally it's a couple of hours or the day before. Poor communication about closures is not as uncommon as you might think. The cast of Oliver! found out it was closing through tube posters!

It’s very sad of course for all the cast, crew, FOH staff etc . I don’t wish losing jobs on anyone, but this show is just absymal and ALW really should not inflict it on NYC.
