Also I think the least said about ALW the better...I gave him a serious side eye with his covid denying jokes. I was genuinely excited at first when he walked out as he's obviously a legend, but that quickly changed when he opened his mouth. People have died but he seems to only care about how it's affected his show, it must be wonderful to be a millionaire. ALW really needs to kept away from speaking in public. It was genuinely embarrassing and almost everyone was talking about it on the way out! I heard someone ask 'Where is his PR team to tell him how not acceptable those comments were?', I couldn't agree more! |

Forgot to ask, looks like people were pointing to a celebrity in centre stalls (behind the rotating section), but my eyesight (or celebrity knowledge) wasn't able to work out who it was. Any ideas?

Also apologies for the multiple posts, but I was quite shocked tonight that no one asked to see my covid passport...I've had a busy week where I've seen Wicked twice and there was no entry without proof of vaccination under no circumstances at the Apollo Victoria.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't help but feel that this might have something to do with it being an ALW owned venue...

He made some joke about Delta and Omicron being an anagram of media control and then exited stage left. ALW showing the originality, wit and topicality he is known for. Sparkling inventiveness like this is why people leave his shows thinking "That was a show that I have watched". |

Anyone reading my posts on here might think I just go and see shows every night (Trust me I hardly ever these days!) but I ended up going to see Cinderella for a second time tonight. I've been off work this week and had more time to go to things and my other plans for tonight fell through, so when I seen there was an aisle seat available in the front row I thought why not just go alone!
The jubilee line was off tonight due to someone jumping on the tracks (Total nightmare) so I had to get an Uber and didn't get to my seat til about 25 past 7, but I was absolutely shocked when I looked around me and seen that the theatre was about 40% full with tonnes of empty seats around me in the stalls and the circle being totally empty - was the circle not on sale? I only bought my ticket today so I'm not sure!
I'm a Carrie fan (I'll be completely honest and say I wouldn't go to this show if she wasn't in it) so please don't think I'm dissing her, but unfortunately things got off to a really bumpy start for her vocally tonight. She was really out of breath and her voice cracked on the last 'yooooou' note of Bad Cinderella. I was really worried that her voice was overly tired after the first night as she hadn't sang the show for a while before hand and felt really bad for her (it happens to everyone!).
Thankfully though I was wrong and she pulled it back like a total pro, her voice totally recovered when she returned for her next number and she hit the last note effortlessly during the 500 reprises. I Know I Have A Heart tonight was especially amazing, she was clearly emotional last night but tonight it was flawless. Her voice sounds really wonderful live.
The only one part that was quite unfortunate for me was that Caleb Roberts accidentally spat in my face during his entrance as Prince Charming. I had the aisle seat right next to the small steps that he stands on and when he announced 'It is I' or whatever he says, a massive blob of spit came out of his mouth and hit me on the cheek. I'm a bit of a germaphobe so it was slightly grim, but obviously it was just an accident and I won't hold it against him - I doubt he even realised to be honest! I suppose that's what I get for insisting on sitting so near.
Overall my opinion on the show is the same - The cast are amazing but are working with sub standard material, and after ALW's 'speech' last night I wouldn't be surprised if the rumours of them being treated badly are true. I hope this show just works as a great CV piece for them all and it helps Ivano get better roles as he's definitely a star in the making, as is Georgina and Lauren Byrne.

The most tragic part is that I actually was wearing my mask, but because Caleb was standing above me his spit somehow found it’s way under my mask and landed on my cheek. On the funny side, at this part of the show all of the cast are sitting down at the wedding and Victoria Hamilton Barrett (Who was hilarious throughout) was sitting directly in front of me. The only thing I could think of to do was take off my mask and rub some hand sanitizer from my pocket on my cheek which probably looked quite strange, so when I was doing it she looked at me and gave me a funny “disgusted” look in character which made me giggle! I mentioned this in a previous post, but the cast are awkwardly close to you at times in the front row, if you’re sitting on the right there are moments when Carrie bends down to scrub the floor where she is no more than 6 feet away from you, something to note if you prefer being further back! |

His usual go-tos are the designer and the cast. Very occasionally the director. And sometimes he blames his own audience (i.e. the Internet)...he seemed to think a certain other message board that existed at the time of a previous bomb was full of "fake and malicious bloggers", IIRC. My guess is he'll lay the blame on the cast this time based on what's happened to date. |

Am I right in saying you had mentioned you were also in the front row? If so I was wondering did you also hear the two women in the fourth row talking incessantly? Maybe it was more noticeable from my seat, but there were two women sat in row D of the stalls who literally whispered to each other throughout the whole show and started talking louder during musical numbers as if that meant the music would drown them out and not disturb others. I was trying not to let it annoy me, but it was so frustrating during quieter moments hearing a constant “psst psst” behind me. On the way out I overheard one of them saying to the other “Yeah the main girl has a good voice, but I don’t need to hear it for that long”…you have to wonder why some people bother showing up! |

The worst bits were when Carrie first came on and after Bad Cinderella they screamed “go on Carrie love, we luvvs ya Carrie” etc. and also during I Know You which they loudly sang along to. I went off to the loo at the beginning of the interval and sought out an usher when I came back to see if someone could have a word with them, but ended up interrupting a conversation with some crying girls in the front row who said they’d called them lesbians and pushed past them or something. I was a bit confused how simply being called a lesbian would make you cry or is even an insult, especially as the two boys were very clearly gay themselves, but I didn’t get involved. To be fair maybe they’d called these girls homophobic slurs rather than just lesbians and they didn’t want to repeat, who knows. Anyway, they were chucked out because of this and their terrible behaviour in Act I so Act II went by much more smoothly. |
