So Laurence Connor tweeted that he was pleased to be back in Belleville. “Just a few nips and tucks to attend to before we get back onstage”.
Nip- Make reference to the actual consequences of not being home by midnight. Will the uninspiring dull matt grey meringue ball gown spontaneously combust? Will Cinders fillers and cosmetic work instantly deactivate leaving her face a big ol’ saggy mess?
Tuck- Make reference to and give closure to the pretty heavily featured ‘How do the Queen & Step Mother know each other? plot thread’ without relying on subtext or audience interpretation.
I think we’d be just about there then lads eh? Whats that? About 4 years work and you don’t need some knobhead on a theatre chat board (without your combined years of experience) to point out the glaring issues with your work? Soz. Don’t worry I won’t charge.

I still want to know who Gary Wilmot's character was in the workshop! Perhaps he tied the whole plot together... JEAN? Didn’t make the final cut to the show obviously The cast was Carrie Hope Fletcher as Cinderella, Tyrone Huntley as Sebastian, Gary Wilmot as Jean, Ruthie Henshall as Queen, Victoria Hamilton-Barritt as Stepmother, Sophie Isaacs as Adele, and Rebecca Trehearn as Marie. The ensemble included Lucy Anderson, Dan Buckley, Charlie Burn, Ronan Burns (Duke), Darragh Cowley, Daniel Crowder, Jonny Fines (Prince Charming), Ahmed Hamad, Danny Michaels, Jo Napthine, Oliver Ormson (Dorian), Jemma Revell, and Gabriella Williams. Maybe he played a version of the God-mother/god-father/god-other? That character is not listed above. It would have been an interesting spin. I feel that by the time the show goes to Broadway that the godmother character will probably be non-binary. I wish we got to see Ruthie Henshall as the Queen. I wonder why she didn't do it. She's been in Cats and TWIW but this would have been her first time originating a role in an ALW show.

The Queen is such a small part. She doesnt get a decent song, has incestuous thoughts about her own son. Ruthie moght have done it for a workshop for investors, but I can't see her putting her name to it in performance. Maybe playing the role in the workshop let her see how bad the show is. I can see her in the Stepmother role though, she still doesnt get a decent song to herself, but its a much showier role and has far more impact than the queen.

I would have been if they hadn't moved the original reopening date to earlier... gah. Good luck to the cast & crew for tonight though!

Looks like they've hired some more ensemble... good idea given all the current talk of casts being stretched too thin. So good luck to them too!

I just had a look at the website, it used to say on the seats about going to the ball but looks like they’ve taken that off now. I think it’s all the ones in the front part of the stalls up to where the gap is on the seating plan between rows H and I.

ALW introduced the show tonight. He said that he was glad he was able to close the show and reopen as there were a number of changes he wanted to make. He made some joke about Delta and Omicron being an anagram of media control and then exited stage left. Having not seen it before I couldn’t tell you what was different. Seeing it for the first time I thought it was meh - ok. 3/5

I think it's fair to say that ALW has lost his marbles if he's making jokes about media control.

I was at the show tonight in the front row having first seen it in December with Georgina and although I still think the overall show is a bit rubbish (sorry!), I have to say I thought Carrie did brilliantly tonight.
I'm not sure if anyone else noticed, but from the front row her eyes looked really watery and red as if she had been crying before hand. I'm not trying to jump to conclusions, but that was just my first thought when I seen her. I also thought the tears at the end of I Know I Have a Heart looked really genuine and there were a couple of other moments where I thought she looked on the verge of crying. I know she's going through a very tough time at the moment, so I hope she's ok and keeping her head up.
After Only You Ivano's face started trembling as if he was holding in tears and then couldn't anymore, so burst into hysterics just before he walked off - You could tell he was genuinely overwhelmed to be back!
Also I think the least said about ALW the better...I gave him a serious side eye with his covid denying jokes. I was genuinely excited at first when he walked out as he's obviously a legend, but that quickly changed when he opened his mouth. People have died but he seems to only care about how it's affected his show, it must be wonderful to be a millionaire.

It’s public knowledge now that Carrie and Oliver Ormson’s relationship has recently ended after 5 years together so yes it’s pretty likely she would have been quite emotional tonight, especially when many of her songs are to do with love and broken hearts. I hope she’s doing ok. I’m popping back to the show tomorrow with a New Year Sale ticket in the spinny seats, I actually think the show can be quite enjoyable provided you’re suitably tipsy beforehand.

Ah, that was AllThatDazzles in front of me (with his partner). I've seen them at a lot of shows and been trying to work out who they are for ages!
Enjoyed this tonight from the second row, although seeing ALW there three out of the five times is pushing my tolerance levels. Second row is definitely a better view than front row.
The changes were really minor. Most of the line cuts had already been made last time I saw this (before the closure). The only thing that stood out to me was the bird joke.
Carrie and Ivano were on excellent form.

Got front row for tomorrow. Can someone tell me which seats rotate? You'll absolutely love being in the front row as you can see the whole show, but it sometimes feels like you're in it as there is no orchestra pit. I was in the front row on the right tonight and at one point Carrie was kneeling at the edge of the stage and she was so close that I was scared I was accidentally going to touch her hair - obviously I wouldn't have but that's how it felt! Rebecca Trehearn also made a very fast turn at one point and the end of her dress hit the man beside me's face, it was pretty funny!
