Smoke & Mirrors & time travel I reckon...that lovely song that they were listening to through a window was clearly backed by a full orchestra. Hopefully we will be getting that (plus more hopefully). Nope! The scores of music on the stands clearly have 13th-14th July 2020 on them! I bet you were great at the spot the difference round on the Krypton Factor!

My flatmate works at Abbey Road Studios. I've emailed him to see if he can find out what the sessions were for!

They apparently recorded 2 songs/tracks over the 2 days. 1 day was strings, the other day was brass/woodwond and they havent scrimped on the number of players.
They also had 1 singer (i presume CAF) for part of it.
I guess this will be a release/taster to whet the appetite the delayed opening.

I’ve ended up with a bit of an upgrade with rebooking my ‘Cinderella’ tickets, moving forward a row and a fair few seats across. They’ve certainly looked after people.

Does anyone know whether this adaption is set in the present day?? Because that's that the press images are screaming. She’s going to be stomping around in a pair of Doc Martins if the press photos before lockdown are anything to go by. And that’s reinforced by the artwork so I think there’s a good chance. I find the idea of Carrie Hope Fletcher in a pair of bovver boots giving her fangirls what she thinks is an “edgy” Cinders totally unappealing and will be giving it a wide berth.

/?vh=e&d=n Nothing majorly new. But a small clip at the end of the strings section playing part of one of the songs.

I think they're talking about the advertisement photos that were released. That's horrendous! The pink makes me think of &Juliet, not Cinderella! Windella?

The lettering is still appalling (those awful slippers) - I wouldn't be surprised if this has totally new graphics by the time it opens.

After hearing snippets of piano, singing via social distancing and all - that was really, really awesome to hear. ALW is still the master of marketing (and composing ) That was pretty thrilling

I wasn't sure about the song when the first snippets were released but the more that's been revealed and especially now with the full orchestrated version there I really like it.

Well, that little excerpt has done what is was intended to do, and I'm now much more interested in booking than I was before, so well done Team ALW!

Where did you see these new photos ? I think they're talking about the advertisement photos that were released. Looks like the graphic design is my passion meme

If that's the "hit" song they're in huge trouble. If you're going to steal a tune you should try to make it more interesting, not less.

To me it does sound incredibly like 'In My Own Little Corner' from R&H's Cinderella! The beginning of the chorus literally follows exactly the same melody structure("call me bad Cinderella/in my own little corner")
I have a feeling the cast for this is going to be impressive and will probably make it a must-see, but it's going to be very mediocre...

He might try to claim it is an homage to the R&H song - but it feels too close for comfort. And it is hardly the first time ALW has 'borrowed' from other composers (and yes, I know lots of composers have done that over the years - ALW just seems to do it more than most)

In his defence he is a lot more prolific so has a much larger body of work, whereas B&S have only written like, 5 full length musicals so their opportunities to nick from Puccinni (sp?) have been much less. I’m sure there’s a pie chart or a histogram somewhere that could be used in a court of law...that, and it’s out of copyright so it’s fair game. 😬
