Exactly! Make it clear from the outset then there’s no room for disappointment. I don’t believe for one minute that they haven’t had a schedule in mind from the start, although why they don’t give her an evening show off is beyond me. Then she would get two days of rest.
Edit: they have Mon/Tues off so it just extends two days already.

CHF will be revving herself up for a mass schooling and blocking session on her socials at anyone who expresses disappointment at not seeing her. It’s got to the point now where her fans are actually apologising before expressing their disappointment. She still blocks ‘em 😆

My grandma bought a skirt like that from M&S to wear at Christmas. It must have felt like a very long time to wait for her, I'm glad she's finally getting to have her first performance.

Saw this on Saturday and I enjoyed it, but I didn't LOVE it. As in, I probably wouldn't see it again. Great performances all round, from Carrie, Ivano, VHB and the stepsisters in particular. Some of the songs are great, some are completely forgettable. Loved the revolve it was so interesting! I found the theatre super confusing! I could NOT find my door! There was no signs for it and I kept asking ushers and they'd be like 'through that door' then there was more doors none of which were mine and I was getting proper stressed!! Most confusing theatre ever!

I sympathise with the earlier poster. We stood at the bar level and could see Doors 3 and 4 clearly labelled, but could see no Door 1 or signs for it. I had to ask a member of staff, who pointed the way. The door in question is hidden from view until you've gone up a short staircase and turned 180 degrees to face it. I asked if I had missed a sign somewhere, and they just shrugged.

I’m not not an idiot, I’ve travelled the world on my own. It wasn’t signed anywhere!

Sounds like the WMC (and Hogwarts) where I swear the signs, doors & staircases move…a lot like Cardiff itself which I’ve never got to the same way twice.

It wasn’t signed anywhere! You've got me there - I wouldn't have a clue where door 7 is. I tend to just enter through the stalls right side and meander my way to wherever my seat is (unless in dress circle in which case its the stair climb...).

Well I must say I'm impressed with the box office. I asked if I could change my ticket from matinee to evening performance and within an hour they gave me a credit voucher to pick which seat I wanted so now I am physically going to the ball as Ive managed to change to one of the special seats!

Some auditions were held today - seems a bit early for any type of cast change doesn’t it?

Could it be cast members who had already committed to another project based on one of the earlier planned opening dates so can't now do the full length of their planned orginal runs or maybe they want a bit more cover in case of COVID pings?

Some auditions were held today - seems a bit early for any type of cast change doesn’t it? Since the show is now officially open and will "run", it's quite normal for a show to cast for additional swings for holiday cover. There's also the factor that if the show had opened when it was scheduled to, the first year would already have run by now, and some cast may have new contracts to go onto.

Caught the Weds matinée of this, perhaps unsurprisingly it was full of children, including a mother and girl of about four right next to me who fidgeted throughout, which was distracting but could have been a lot worse. As for the show, I quite like the music, it's not top tier ALW but has some good tunes. The story though - eek. I didn't care for it at all, it didn't hang together for me. Georgina was great, good voice, I knew Carrie was off before going but you'd have been hard put to have discovered that if you didn't know, there was nothing in the programme or any obvious signs up that I noticed anywhere. Loved Rebecca and Victoria, not too sure about the character's voice chosen by the latter though. Three stars.

Finally managed to catch this at the matinee yesterday and had some really great seats in the circle which were a steal at £35 each.
I still can’t put my finger on it but something just didn’t work for me with this show. There’s a little bit of me which thinks it paled in comparison to what we’d seen the night before, Anything Goes and was never really going to rank high.
As others have said, there’s some nice songs in the show. Not earth-shattering or likely to revolutionise musical theatre, but nice all the same. I’m a sucker for a ballad and there’s a few decent numbers in there. The first act just seemed to drag a little and ultimately the pay off at the end of act two is so overworked throughout the show, there’s little to get excited about. Yes, I know it’s a well known story but I thought this was meant to be a new take on a classic.
Cast-wise there were some beautiful performances. Ivano was off as Sebastian but his understudy Michael was on. Absolutely beautiful performance and was one of the few you could really believe.
Unpopular opinion coming but I wasn’t really a fan of Carrie. Her performance of I know I have a Heart was stunning but overall found her lacking some emotional depth, I just couldn’t warm to her but maybe that’s the way she was written?
Supporting cast were hamming it up to the nth-degree which plays well for characters like the Queen but there was something slightly off putting with Victoria’s choice of voice where it just felt like she was disgusting a beautiful voice throughout.
Glad I’ve seen it and I’ll definitely have a couple of tracks on the Spotify playlist but won’t be rushing back to see it anytime soon.

What’s this voice thing that VHB is doing? I’ve seen it referenced but no one has really explained what it is?

She just puts on a deep, affected voice rather than her gorgeous singing voice. As I’ve said previously, by all means talk in it, but don’t sing like it too.
