Isn't this the moment in the show where Doc Brown is realising his invention "works"? I don't remember Doc being young at that moment in the film. Then you remember incorrectly! The whole scene where Doc shouts “It works! It works! I finally invent something that works!” Takes place in 1955, where Young Doc sees the time machine (and Marty shows him the Flux Capacitor) for the first time and realises that one day he will invent something that works. So it’s true to the source material that he’s played young at this point. correct! |

Such a fantastic movie - how can you never have seen it @sharpe12?! Skip the show & watch the film instead.
The clip they released makes it look like it belongs at the Ed Fringe. At best. I’m not about to judge the whole production based on 30secs of rehearsal footage but it’s definitely an odd move on behalf of their marketing dept. And not one that would have me rushing to the box office.

BTTF is my favourite move of all time, but since this was first announced years ago I just haven’t been able to imagine how they’ll transfer the overall charm of the movie to the stage. Yes, it’s a movie about time travel, but the majority of the film is actually quite intimate, the parents/son plot moving along through almost domestic moments between characters. I know many musicals deal with moments like those well, but right now I get the feeling everything is going to be elevated to a big song and dance number - with added backing dancers. Hoping to be proven wrong, but that rehearsal clip isn’t filling me with confidence. |

Has anyone else who's an ATG card holder and booked for this just got the same bizarre e-mail I got? It says they've noticed I've not booked yet (I have...on 1st day of sale) and there's ticket offers on for performances til 5th Feb. Think someone's got their dates wrong

Like yourself, I've already booked and got my ticket. I must admit the date error made me laugh. Are we supposed to buy a Delorean car and travel back in time to access the offer? |

I’ve also had this email although I haven’t booked yet but I don’t actually have an ATG card (haven’t for over a year now).
For some reason I still get all the offer emails. Presumably to tempt me back to become a member again!

Anyway, just checked the site and noticed they have single seats down to £19.55 on some dates, so grabbed a front row seat at that price. Looks to be the early performances so far and not at weekends, but if you're going solo (or happy to sit separately) it's worth checking or holding out for later dates. |

Looks like there are physical set of stairs on the left going up. The circle overhang is killer at the opera house so think the set might be two levels and you cant see the second level from the mix position. It also looks like they've narrowed the proscinimum to increase wing space.

Just out of first preview.... WOW. The visual spectacle is my biggest takeaway and the integration or practical effects with projection (+ lighting/sound etc) was phenomenal. One stop for a minute or two before going back to the future... but that was it. There’s a lot I could spoil.... but just go an experience it. Some great songs and superb casting too. Wild audience!

The comments online (which I know have to be taken with a pinch of salt) do seem very positive. Getting a bit excited for this one now. Although I'm struggling to think where it could go unless they are delaying a transfer until after Hello Dolly finishes

I agree it's the logical choice but only reason I doubted that is Mr B is adamant they dont want the dominion Two things... 1) prince of Egypt may not close and could extend I would think it if gets good reviews and starts sell 2) Back to the Futire may want to come in sooner than later to retain their cast. If they wait until March of 2021, the actors may get other gigs. Manchester is done in May which means the cast couldn't commit to another long run if they are doing Back to the Future. |
