There were rush tickets still available at 1pm today. Very nearly bought them, really glad I didn't now. The phrasing makes it sound like it's not Covid related? Otherwise surely they'd just give a return date like all other shows that have had to close? They may be waiting for PCR Tests to come back or something to resume shows. Who knows. Maybe they just haven’t had time to rehearse the covers properly yet.

Perhaps a few people got Covid from Roger (or he got it from them) and too many people would be out and there aren't enough covers? Whoahhh - let’s not start speculating how or what the illness is that caused the show to be cancelled eh!

Yes he did - but doesnt mean that’s why show cancelled tonight - during this horrific year, theatres have usually confirmed that cancellations are covid related if that’s the reason but BTTF have tweeted publicly that’s it’s ‘due to illness …’ which could cover a myriad of things - that’s all I’m saying 😀

Any inside news on what's happening to the rest of this week's performances? I'm holding Friday tickets, and official sources are saying nothing currently.

Mmm, we're booked for tonight, I'm off to London soon anyway as seeing Carousel this afternoon and my son has already booked his non-refundable travel for when he finishes work. We'll try for Rush tickets for something if BTTF gets cancelled. We have front row £49.50 seats which are all sold out till at least November. I previously had a BTTF matinee booked in Manchester two days after the first lockdown in March 2020 and obviously cancelled. I shall keep an eye on this Forum and hope it won't be second time unlucky !

Sorry to hear you've been unlucky twice. Hope you get booked for another performance soon. Maybe they will upgrade you if front row is sold out. I had front row for July and when they delayed the opening, I was offered row C centre which I accepted at no extra charge. It was actually better than front row as the stage is quite high. Good luck!

When this show is open what have been the covid checks. Looking up for tickets and London theatre was saying you need to show negative test results done within 24 hours even if you have your double vaccine proof. The LW web site says to do the test but is not stating you need to bring the result along. Was looking to see this along side anything goes, a show and theatre you can just walk into with no letters, apps or medical tests!

When I went on Sunday, they were asking for either proof of vaccination or of a recent test. However, somebody behind me didn’t have either, and the usher said it was alright. He said “We just have to ask”.

They wanted to see proof of covid status before I entered the theatre. They accepted the official Covid pass on the NHS app proving double vaccination.

Do they accept Covid vaccination cards from other countries?

Refunds are being issued for the cancelled BTTF performances, no option to rebook, understandable but disappointing. Don't want to wait months to get the seats we had before so will be trying Today Tix regularly for anything reasonable.

Gusty call - but fair to all - gives shell-shocked cast a chance to recover; staff the opportunity to deepclean the venue and audiences advance notice. Break a leg Monday.

Hope the cast are okay - I guess not many need to be out for the count for a cancellation to happen if you haven't fully rehearsed understudies yet. But the show should really be offering rescheduling of tickets instead of just flat out cancellations, considering they've apparently hiked their prices up for the same tickets. Cinderella even honoured the £19.50 front stalls tickets that were being sold for £90+ for some of the performances people were moved to. People have had tickets booked for so long in advance, it's really not much to ask to let them see the show for the price they originally booked for.

I hope they get sorted quickly, and I hope Mark gets some more shows after saving the day. I’m due to go next Friday and would love to see his interpretation.

Gusty call - but fair to all - gives shell-shocked cast a chance to recover; staff the opportunity to deepclean the venue and audiences advance notice. Break a leg Monday. I'd hardly call five hours "advance notice". That's very last minute. Train tickets have to be cancelled by 6pm the day before, and few hotel rates allow same-day cancellations. This now has a whiff of bad handling. What kind of illness -- apparently not Covid -- causes five days of shows to be cancelled, but isn't evident until five hours before on days 1, 2 and 3? It's not like there's much else for us to see. The only other show we haven't seen is Frozen, so I've rebooked us for that at a £20-per-ticket premium over BTTF. I hated the film -- a big Disney mis-step I thought with awful shrill vocals from Menzel -- so hoping the musical is better. I shall be fuming if they're expecting me to rebook for BTTF at any more than I already paid. I had great centre front stalls seats too by booking very early, but my expectations are low given how this has been communicated so far.

Well the fact that they are now in the position where at least 3 of the main leading actors of the show are ill, including the Doc understudy- plus others in the cast- not all Covid related may I add, everyone may want to cut them some slack!

Shell shocked still seems a bit extreme phrasing for that.

I think Hungover may be the word- I bet they are regretting holding a first night party now. How stupid can you get. Don’t know any other show that’s held a party like that in the current climate.
