Oh that's good news.
Isn't it weird though the way that next year is basically going to be everything a lot of us thought we would be seeing this year!

I'd love for this to be true, but it doesn't seem a full confirmation yet, just what they HOPE to happen.

Amazing news if true!
What's the source for this though? I can't find an official announcement which would be great to see. Especially as the above post says 'confirmed' rather than 'rumoured!'

Good news if true but yes, a source would be helpful.

Great news if it is true. But would it only be a limited run or will Hello Dolly! need to find somewhere else?

I thought Hello Dolly is going to now be 2022 so room for both.

We can’t ignore the scale of what has just happened to us and expect everything to reset back to how it was before.

I think 'confirmed' is pushing it. I'd wait for an official announcement from the producers (or Baz!) before announcing confirmation across social media personally.

Freelance directors have very little say in venue negotiations and given what's going on at the mo this feels very unlikely. Unconfirmed report at best... will wait until the production put out a confirmed announcement.

Went past the Opera House last week for the first time since lockdown. Sad to see all the posters and marquee still decked out for this.

It opens in May at the Adelphi. Baz has just announced it.

Whats the point of them teasing an announcement for 7.45 tomorrow morning if Baz is going to announce it beforehand?

You are all most welcome ..
I see they’ve brought it forward to May.
I didn’t think it was very good but thank god for some positive news finally.

Is it just the seat count that draws shows to the Adelphi? It’s not particularly comfortable and the front of house areas don’t make a lot of sense. Maybe they offer a good deal. I suppose that cluster of Adelphi/Savoy/Lyceum/Vaudeville do offer another area to explore but I always struggle to eat anywhere interesting around there. I hope it brings lots of trade their way and helps bolster the reopening of theatreland.

They can charge higher ticket prices when they have 1500 seats to fill. Also it’s a pretty big stage, so perfect for musicals, even if wing space at the sides is terrible. I think it’s one of the ugliest auditoriums we have, but I think it is perfect for this show actually as they will cover a lot of the ugly boxes up with the circuit board (?) design..

Just booked two central front row stalls seats @ £49.50 for a Thursday evening in early June.
Very reasonable price I thought though it is a slight look up to the stage from the front at the Adelphi. Warning to expect it to be very loud - brilliant !!
